  1. Hi @Tootie, it's so nice to see such a positive experience on cruises. It all seems to be doom and gloom these days and many forget that most guests are having a great time! Cozumel is an amazing port, and so much to do there, there haven't been any issues with ships going there so all guests can expect to spend time ashore with no issues. You've pretty much summed it all up! Thanks for your post!
  2. She's a lot different from the typical Carnival cruise ships and a lot bigger! This might help: https://www.cruisehive.com/carnivals-mardi-gras-cruise-ship-everything-you-need-to-know/52512
  3. Let's hope the new requirements don't last too long. Now that the CDC has gone away and Omicron goes away, maybe they will make some changes.
  4. Hey @14Canadian, you've given up with NCL? How about one of the other cruise lines?
  5. Hey @Mark Levy, thanks for the info, really does help cruisers out and understand the what's going on, not just with the Latitudes update, but also on Norwegian Gem. How was the experience on the Gem? A lot going on with that ship at the moment it seems.
  6. If you've tested positive then Carnival won't let you cruise, no way around it.
  7. Hey @Chrystal, I'm pretty sure they are still open, but you should still expect port changes during these times. It also depends on a ship by ship basis and if any Covid cases onboard at the time. Do let us know if they inform you of any changes.
  8. Pretty much tendering like they do at some other cruise destinations such as Belize, Grand Cayman (when open) and some cruise line private islands. Would be a good idea for sure, makes everyone happy.
  9. I haven't heard anything on that front, could have missed something though. Will keep an eye out.
  10. Hi @Gayle, which ship is it?
  11. There is some news on four Celebrity Eclipse cruises that are now canceled, including departures on March 26, April 2, April 9, and April 16. Celebrity Cruise Ship Suspends Pacific Coast Sailings (cruisehive.com) Here's most of the letter:
  12. Oh no, so sorry to hear about that @Anita cruiser, these charter cruises are bit more tricky than just a regular cruise. I hope you still decide to cruises in the future once all this over. By the way, which ship was it?
  13. That's so good to know @Robert! Glad that cruise has gone well for you and please do keep us updated.
  14. Just thought I would let those know who have some cruises booked with Celebrity Cruises, the cruise line has now extended its Cruise with Confidence cancellation program. Applies for bookings made through March 31, 2022 on sailings departing on or before September 30, 2022. More details are here: Celebrity Cruises Extends Cruise With Confidence Program Through March (cruisehive.com)
  15. It's the reality of cruising. Anyone who has an upcoming cruise should expect itinerary changes. A real shame you missed those ports, Grand Turk is so nice.
  16. What would you like to know @Caroline? Should be good to go!
  17. That's a good idea, we should start a list to keep track. I know San Juan is closed if cruise ships can't comply with certain requirements. I think a lot depends on a ship by ship bases for many Caribbean ports.
  18. Here is the translation if anyone is interested in replying! We got on board on December 31st and came out like messy people on January 4th. My son tested positive and was isolated as a plague victim. We were isolated in our cabins for 24 hours then tested, all negative. Saw our son's conditions (refusal to give him a cabin with a balcony, so he had a cabin with a window, supposedly to be next to a medical center which is in the second and the isolation in the third !!!! in the isolation we wanted to take him out to St Martin. way we would be tested the next day. He surely made us understand that if we were positive we would be isolated under the same conditions. My husband shared the cabin with him, nobody disinfected his cabin and suddenly he was positive too. To get off we had to do a test again which revealed two positives We had 5 minutes to make the decision because the crew member held out his hand to collect our passports with the threat of being isolated!. 5 minutes to pack the bags. I complain every day that the protocole was not respected photos and video in support, no wearing of mask (often) crowded elevators !!! Nobody cared about it. I sent emails to everyone I just sent. I asked how many covid cases on the symphony, I was told 3, I asked another one and his answer was 30. In the end 200 people got off 2 ships. If you can postpone your cruise, do it! We made a big mistake to leave. This trip was a poisoned Christmas present. despite many assurances, almost everyone does not care. no contact for royal caribbean or central cruise. they should never have sent us away and in fact the following cruises are canceled!
  19. Hey @Karen, At the moment, your sailing looks like a go but do keep checking for any updated from Royal Caribbean. Keep an eye on that St. Thomas call, a few cancellations for that port last week or so.
  20. Should still be a go. No word on cancellations for the ship or anything like that.
  21. Hey @markee45, Did you cruise in the end? Which ship?
  22. Hey @pugmom, San Juan sure is out due to new requirements implemented by the authorities there. You can check the CDC ship status here: https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/cruise-ship-color-status.html I hope you don't have any more port changes, it's so fluid right now. Keep us updated if you get any further changes.
  23. From what I've seen so far, Explorer of the Seas is still operation ok out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Royal Caribbean has just updated its protocols for departures from San Juan, so might be worth a look. I feel your frustrations, it's all confusing right now and these details are constantly changing. Maybe by the time you cruise, everything will change again!
  24. I've heard about an itinerary change for the ship too. Wonder if there is a letter doing the rounds informing guests of the changes.
