  1. Glad you had a great cruise @Steve Popper, it sure is still safe on a cruise compared to many places on land. Cozumel is one of my favorite ports, always plenty to do there!
  2. It will be interesting to see what the cruise lines do once the CDC power shifts at the end of this week. The cruise lines do want to make sure they are doing everything they possible can to protect guests and crew. Also depends on how Omicron continues to impact the industry.
  3. No updates on Celebrity Apex's January 15th sailing. Most ships are still being allowed to make their port visits. It was probably just for that cruise so you should be fine. Just always be prepared for any changes and cancellations, that's the new reality at the moment for anyone cruising.
  4. Have no idea, maybe he is just going to be on vacation.
  5. Not as far as I know. The ship is scheduled to return to service after dry dock on January 22, 2022.
  6. Hey @Tracey, there are places in New York where you can pay to have you luggage stored in a locker, including for large ones. I know there are apps offering these things, so you should be good to explore the city then.
  7. Hey @ErnzWife, looks like the Norwegian Escape made it back to Miami and is already on her next sailing as it shows on the Cruise Ship Tracker.
  8. Hi @Alyce Thompson, thousands of people are still cruising with the majority having a good time, so I don't see why not. You've just got to be prepared for possible port changes and things like that. Talk to your granddaughters and see what they think.
  9. Agree with @Valleyfore, just follow what the cruise lines require. They are in contact with the port authorities and have procedures in place with them.
  10. That's so annoying and sorry for your situation. Later this year the situation may be much better to go on a cruise. Just keep an eye on the situation as it might just be worth it in the end.
  11. No idea! Check their website. If you are booked with them, do keep an eye on your booking details.
  12. hey @lulu, Just depends on each cruise line, they are all different. More recently, the cruise lines are warning guests about the possibility of port cancellations due to requirements at ports, which is out of the cruise line's control. A lot of the time the cruise lines do offer onboard credit or some kind of compensation if the itinerary has a huge change, depends on the situation and what they decide at the time.
  13. Hey @Darlene, the cases in Europe are high due to Omicron but by the time May comes around, everything could be different. It's all evolving so fast. There might be some info here which could help: Flexible Cancellations & Best Price Guarantee | Celebrity Cruises
  14. It sure is annoying when I come across headlines with "outbreak" when it's actually not. Totally agree with you @Paul Schmidt. They want the traffic and loads of people going to their sites, but there are ways to do that without going over the top and keeping to the facts.
  15. Hey @Ray Ruocco, which ship are you booked on? You've just got to be prepared for port changes and cancellations.
  16. It sure is getting a bit tricky at the moment. If only they would report the number of cases. It seems to be going around the crew too as Royal Caribbean is transferring them to other ships. Hopefully, it will all be much better when Spring arrives.
  17. Don't think so. Cruising should still be able to continue especially with the CDC moving out of the picture at the end of next week!
  18. Cruising sure is still a great vacation option and they've done so much when it comes to protocols, including Carnival! Let's hope all this is over and cruising can get back to some normality.
  19. It's best just to wait until all this is over and even though cruising is still safe, better to just get those refunds.
  20. Hey @DavidBlakely, the cruise lines don't usually reveal the numbers. I do have to say that the sanitizing and cleaning onboard will be significant. You just need to be prepared for port changes and any situation that comes up, that's the new reality at the moment.
  21. Hey @Shorty, so sorry about your experience on the Carnival Sunrise. I would also be annoyed at some of those things, especially that it was the first cruise for the younger ones. I'm surprised they never did anything about your neighbors! Grand Cayman has been closed for a while to cruise ships, so you should have had plenty of notice on that. Maybe it was all due to COVID and a lack of crew, who knows! Which cruise line will be next then?
  22. Cruisers are still decorating their doors but I think it does depend on the materials used and how things are being stuck to the door. If they did confirm this with you over the phone then you should be good. Also try to get it in an email so you can show staff on the ship, just in case.
  23. Hey @GoldStatustravler, thanks so much for your post! That's a great heads up for cruisers heading to CocoCay. I hope they try to make things better. Have you told Royal Caribbean about this? It may help them make improvements in the future.
  24. Hey @Nic, the cruise lines don't really release that info for each sailing. When is your cruise?
