  1. Glad you got it all sorted. All these cruise line apps always seem to have issues before a cruise. I had issues for my MSC Cruises in the summer too. @Cruise-Sailor when is your cruise by the way?
  2. Not too long until your cruise then! I bet the excitement is building up! Yes, if it's two days before sailing then you'll be all good. I hope it all goes smoothly for you.
  3. Hi @Steve M, Thanks so much for posting and welcome! I think the new wearables will be good even without Covid. We had them on our MSC cruise in the summer and found them no problem. To be honest I didn't really think of the contact tracing aspect and found them handy to pay for things and use as a keycard. Don't think they will be used for paying on Royal Caribbean. Here's what the Tracelets can do:
  4. You should be fine with the protocols, cruise lines are trying not to make so many changes and make things easier.
  5. It looks like Carnival Cruise Line listened and there is now an additional voyage to Greenland departing in August 2023, which is actually earlier than the original sold out cruise. Pretty sure this will sell out fast too!
  6. Norwegian Cruise Line has already sent details to travel agents and guests about new requirements by the authorities in Bermuda. Is mainly for the Norwegian Breakaway sailings out of New York. Here's the letter: NCLLetter.pdf
  7. The CDC has added another two countries to the list but thankfully not major cruise destinations.
  8. Hi @Norma Baker, thanks so much for your post on our new boards. The cruise lines will usually send guests directly any protocols that are in place a week or so before departure. However, I think it's really important to make sure you check yourself in your booking details just in case you're not surprised by any last-minute changes. Protocols are changing as cruise lines adapt to the Covid situation. When it comes to the test kit, I would not order too early as there could be an expiration date. Also, there is a shortage in supplies so if you order too late they could be out of stock. it's very tricky at the moment. Make sure you read all the details on the purchase page of the test kit: COVID-19 Test for Travel - Abbott BinaxNOWâ„¢ Ag At-Home Kit 2 Pack | Optum Store I hope some of that helps you out. if anyone else has anything to add then feel free to help Norma out.
  9. Hi @Joyce Geraci, welcome to the boards and thanks so much for your reply. Knowing Carnival, I think Halloween will be spooky and fun as usual. Even the pirate is making a return in the main atrium. costumes are allowed but think there are still some rules as in the screenshot below. When is your cruise? I bet you can't wait! You have to let us know how the cruise was.
  10. I haven't used them yet. From what I'm seeing online, they seem to be making it much easier for pre-cruise testing. Don't see anyone having any issues really. Please do let us know on here how the test went for you, would love to know. Also, how long did delivery take for you?
  11. Big news for those in Singapore as Royal Caribbean Malaysia just announced that Spectrum of the Seas will homeport from Singapore from the end of October!
  12. Hi @Cruiser44, The maximum passenger capacity for Wonder of the Seas is 6,988 but for double occupancy it is 5,734.
  13. Hi everyone, happy Monday! Just thought I would let you know that 13 Carnival ships will be offering Halloween onboard through October. Also, you can check all the activities that will be onboard here: Carnival Cruise Line Details Halloween Sailings Through October (cruisehive.com) Carnival Breeze: 10/02/21 through 10/30/21 Carnival Dream: 10/03/21 through 10/31/21 Carnival Elation: 10/11/21 through 10/30/21 Carnival Freedom: 10/09/21 through 10/31/21 Carnival Glory: 10/03/21 through 10/31/21 Carnival Horizon: 10/02/21 through 10/30/21 Carnival Magic: 10/02/21 through 10/31/21 Carnival Miracle: 10/01/21 through 10/29/21 Carnival Panorama: 10/02/21 through 10/30/21 Carnival Pride: 10/03/21 through 10/31/21 Carnival Sunrise: 10/04/21 through 10/28/21 Carnival Vista: 10/02/21 through 10/30/21 Mardi Gras: 10/02/21 through 10/30/21 Have you ever been on a Halloween cruise before?
  14. Apparently many people have been experiencing issues booking the cruises and there are not many remaining. A shame they can't offer more cruises like this. 😞
  15. Looks like Grand Princess is resuming operations today and is the first cruise ship to do so from the Port of Los Angeles in California. Just wondering what everyone thinks of cruises from LA? https://www.cruisehive.com/first-princess-cruise-ship-restarts-operations-from-los-angeles-california/56928
  16. Looks like the situation with the two Royal Caribbean cruise ships in Asia is looking tricky. Spectrum of the Seas' restart out of Hong Kong has been delayed until October 14 and the cruise line has made changes to its protocols for Quantum of the Seas from Singapore due to surging cases. Do you think it will get any better?
  17. Carnival just announced that cruise director Mike Pack is pack on Mardi Gras and it looks like he's already been spending some time enjoying himself! Just in case anyone is interested here is the list of cruise directors for each ship so far: Carnival Magic from Port Canaveral: Gary Blair Carnival Sunrise from Miami: Felipe Couto Carnival Panorama from Long Beach: Lee Mason Mardi Gras from Port Canaveral: Mike Pack replaces Chris Williams Carnival Breeze from Galveston: Jonathan Adams Carnival Vista from Galveston: Kyndall Magyar Carnival Horizon from Miami: Chris Salazar Carnival Miracle from Seattle: Jen Baxter Carnival Pride from Baltimore: Frankie Portera Carnival Glory from New Orleans: Leon Smith Carnival Dream from Galveston: Deon Williams Carnival Freedom restarting on October 9 from Miami: TJ Partida Carnival Elation restarting on October 11 from Port Canaveral: Paully Munhollon Carnival Valor restarting on November 1 from New Orleans: Marty Pitts Carnival Legend restarting November 14 from Baltimore: Leigh Xuereb
  18. Sen. Murkowski has done a great job for Alaska and if it wasn't for her and a couple of others, there would still be no cruise ships sailing to Alaska. Some great cruise destinations there for sure and it's good see cruise visitors enjoying them once again!
  19. Hey James, welcome to the new board and for your question. Carnival Freedom is currently scheduled to restart operations from Miami, Florida on October 9, 2021. So not too long of a wait to see the vessel back in action. You can check all the ships still to resume here: 13 Carnival Cruise Ships Still Waiting to Resume Operations (cruisehive.com) 😀
  20. The CDC has recently been adding more cruise destinations on its level 4 list but it's important to know this doesn't mean that a cruise ship will stop sailing there. The cruise lines do work with local authorities on protocols and things like that, so hopefully, that does not change. So far, here is the list of the Caribbean destinations on the level 4 list: Antigua and Barbuda Aruba The Bahamas Belize Bermuda British Virgin Islands Curacao Jamaica Puerto Rico Panama St. Kitts and Nevis St. Lucia St. Maarten/St. Martin U.S. Virgin Islands
  21. it's so exciting to know that Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas will debut from Fort Lauderdale, Florida in March. I think there will be a lot of interest in the ship for sure. Just wondering what everyone thinks of the soon to be world's largest cruise ship?
  22. So Carnival Cruise Line is today releasing its epic 14-day cruise to Greenland and Canada. The ship will be departing in September 2023 and the itinerary looks amazing! What does everyone think of this?
  23. You're welcome Jim, will take a while to get it going but will be worth it. Congrats on being the first reader to post by the way!
  24. Hi Jim, thanks for your post! Norwegian Prima will begin sailing in August 2022 so not too long to wait!
  25. I thoughts I would kick things off by asking everyone their thoughts on the Norwegian Prima and all the impressive entertainment features the Norwegian Cruise Line recently revealed. One of the main features is a three-level racetrack and that freefall drop slide! The inaugural season also looks amazing! What do you think?
