  1. Hi @ToddJax, thanks for posting on the new boards and for making your first post! I think even if the Oceanview stateroom will be on a slightly lower deck, it would still offer the same views. You should be fine to be honest and I think the possibility of having a better cabin is higher or equal. Let us know if you get any more booking details from Carnival, would be interesting to know what they give you.
  2. Sounds like it will be a great cruise and great timing for sure! Are you booked on the cruise?
  3. Hey @Kay, welcome to the new boards and thanks for posting! Celebrity Cruises does sail to Cartagena in Columbia, here are the cruises after doing a search: https://www.celebritycruises.com/itinerary-search?portsOfCall=CTG I think Celebrity is cruising to most ports now, it's all changing a lot. Cartagena had denied a ship or two recently but it all seems to be resolved now.
  4. Hi @Nina, Thanks for posting. I checked on the Royal Caribbean website and it says "We welcome guests to cruise on as many back-to-back cruises as they as they wish, including kids of any vaccination status. The travel requirements and health protocols are the same as a single cruise, and back-to-back cruisers will need to meet all those requirements. For subsequent cruises, the "pre-cruise test" requirement is fulfilled by a test between cruises. All guests 2 years of age and older, regardless of vaccination status, are required to take a COVID-19 test producing negative results between each sailing. This test will be arranged by Royal Caribbean at no expense to the guest, as long as your consecutive cruises are less than 3 days apart. Visit Guest Services while onboard to arrange this test ahead of your next cruise. We will continue to evaluate this policy as public health guidance evolves." Hope that helps.
  5. The cruise line will look for a a similar option. This might help:
  6. Hey @Kilani Kamakani Connor, congrats on the free cruise! I would aim to get an upgrade and do any package purchases early as it's usually cheaper. Try not to wait until you're onboard the vessel.
  7. If it's a long voyage, I'm sure they are doing that. When is the cruise departing? Carnival says in its protocols, "All guests traveling on back to back cruises, regardless of vaccination status, will need to be tested in between voyages. Sailings longer than 10 days may have additional onboard testing requirements."
  8. Nobody knows yet, we're just going to have to wait and see what happens.
  9. Hi @CO Mom of 2, thanks for posting and welcome to the new boards! Those March sailings are still a go it seems. First March cruise is set for March 4.
  10. Looks like Vision of the Seas is still scheduled to depart Fort Lauderdale on March 7. Ports include Puerto Limon, Colon, Cartagena, overnight Oranjestad and Willemstad.
  11. You should ask Royal Caribbean about this.
  12. You should be all good to go, just keep checking for any changes from Royal Caribbean.
  13. Hey @South Florida Girly, very sorry about your situation, I guess when it comes to the ports it's really out of the cruise line's hands. I bet a lot of it is decided by the local authorities in Italy. It's just the current situation with many cruises at the moment. How many excursions are available? Could try reducing the number you do to save the cost.
  14. Hi @Jeff Johns, Celebrity Cruises didn't go into too much detailed, just said due to the current circumstances. Not sure why they said "pleased to announce," I think that was wrong of them to say that for sure.
  15. A good question, I'm not aware of what's happening onboard at the moment. Haven't heard of the ship being denied at any ports. However, due to the current situation, do expect changes during any voyage. Maybe someone else on here knows more?
  16. Hello there, if you are looking at employment from the cruise lines, you can usually go to the careers section at the bottom of the cruise line home page to find out more details. They will usually have agencies that do the recruiting on a local level.
  17. Thanks so much @KayeKarleen for posting! It sure is important to get that planning in first and it's important to read through all the small little details in the protocols, along with keep checking for new updates. I don't think I could ever do a solo cruise, so good for you for doing that! Thanks for touching on the amazing crew members, as a former crew member myself, they are often overlooked during these difficult times, especially when working for months away from home. Let's hope all this will be over soon and cruising can get back to some normality by the summer!
  18. Better to be safe for sure and totally understand why some ports are not letting ships dock. It's important for the islands to protect their residents.
  19. Best to just wait and see what happens, good decision @Barry Salisbury, and thanks for posting!
  20. I doubt it, you should be fine for that. Celebrity didn't go into much details on the reasoning for the cancellation this year, but seems to be related to travel requirements and things like that. Hopefully all this will be over by the time your voyage comes up in 2023.
  21. Try calling them, I'm sure they have a way for UK cruisers to arrange their pre-cruise testing.
  22. Just letting everyone know that Celebrity Cruises has canceled 29 sailings for the Celebrity Infinity cruise ship. The cruise line is relocating the vessel to the Caribbean from Europe. Celebrity Cruises Cancels 29 Sailings as Ship Relocated to the Caribbean (cruisehive.com)
  23. Hi @Marie, thanks for posting on the boards! I think it's too early to know right now. Just keep checking on the situation and see how it develops.
  24. Carnival Cruise Line is about to make some updates to its protocols so keep a lookout for those updates. Apparently it's going to be within the next 24 hours!
  25. But not all cruise ships are calling there, is it really a win!
