  1. @FJB @kefthecruiser wow, what a wonderful insight. I really enjoyed reading that. you clearly know your knowledge on the area, so let's if you are correct in what you're saying.
  2. @FJB why do you think that? I've never been so what's there for you to think they will buck the trend and do well?
  3. I don't see the issue for them. I can understand why companies don't like them if they are to cause damage and maintenance will constantly have to repair that, but if there is a decorating package onboard, that will be better as the companies know what to expect.
  4. It's very easy to over drink without realising when your enjoying yourself or in good company. It's always as you get up to leave when you realise that you may have had enough to drink
  5. I personally enjoy walking around the ship and getting my own food and enjoying the atmosphere rather than staying in the staterooms alone. There are always downtime during vacations, but I look forward to go out and socialise.
  6. I've read that some cruise lines ban the decorations on doors etc. it's such a great idea that you can get a decorating package, as a lot of people go onboard to celebrate an occasion, so to start the vacation off with a surprise is the best way to do that.
  7. That's the issue with alcohol, it makes you feel and believe you are unbreakable if you drank enough. It pushes your senses, and unfortunately some want that slight push to do the unthinkable.
  8. Amen to that. It really is not enough value to have room service. If you're sick as mentioned, then totally understandable, however I really don't see why anyone would want that.
  9. Yeah unfortunately. I don't trust any of them, however it's not like they listen to anything we have to say.
  10. Shave your head like myself and save more money for excursions. I fancy the zip wire trip, feeling the wind blowing through my h... Oh maybe not then.
  11. Yes I agree with @Cruising Caribbean. Didn't think of the times and the quality of the food when room service is ordered. The first thing I thought about was not ordering when I can get it myself. But after you brought it up, I had another think, and decided that something like steak would not be at its best if we had to await.
  12. Instead of building upwards, maybe some engineer would design a ship that's goes down further and windows along the hull so you can have food in the restaurant looking out under the sea.
  13. @Kendall James-Vargas very true in what you're saying. Alcohol loosens people's minds, and if you're struggling as you state, it can make things worse. It's a shame that people can't enjoy themselves, and all these torments makes me sad.
  14. I don't plan to order any room service. If I'm honest, I don't think I have ever used that service. It never occurs to me to use that, and happy enough to go down and get things myself. If we go to our rooms, then we take the goods up with us.
  15. Unless something drastic happens, it's unfortunate that it will only get much worse and mental health will have a increase. It's a domino effect that will keep going, until something happens to take that domino away.
  16. I'd be afraid to move in Australia. Paranoid in case one creeps out from the toilet. I think I will stay in the UK away from them.
  17. Length ways, I don't think there's much scope to keep going, however height I can see increasing. My fear would be it will be top heavy, when it comes across storms and gusts.
  18. It doesn't bear thinking about. Each company will want to get bigger and better than the last, and I fear it will be relentless. I could see that image being real, and have a mega ship in a similar mould. They call cruises city on the sea now, I wonder how many the future can hold.
  19. Australia do have deadlier animals and such than in the UK. So if anyone has a fear for snakes, spiders and sharks, then it may be further thinking on their part to consider moving.
  20. Are many overboards accidental? I can imagine a few maybe after a few drinks and doing something silly that can cause you to go over, however it is quite hard to actually go over the side unless you put yourself into that situation.
  21. @FJB more money for cruising? What hairdressers do you go to if you're spending cruising money on your hair??? 😮
  22. I totally agree and with you on that. Condolences to his loved ones I'm sure. I read that the coast guard spent a long time searching, and unfortunately to no avail. It deeply saddens me to hear of such things.
  23. @3Sisters it's hard to get a train ride on there now, however it's a very old tradition that you would go on a luxurious train ride, costing thousands per person, and you would go through from Paris to Romania, but see the sights of Vienna and Germany along the way.
  24. I agree, it's heartbreaking news. And it shocks me how frequently these occurrences are. I guess I must have been a little naive to the fact, never occured to me, however it tends to happen often it saddens me to say.
  25. When my children were younger and they had their friends over, they would tease me about having no hair. I'd act shocked to what they were saying and pretend I had hair, and went to touch my head and to my horror the hair was gone. They thought that was funny. So I'd pretend that everyone would need to look for it. Works well in the garden when they would pull chunks of grass out and proceed to put it onto my head.
