  1. I agree completely. I never knew the scope involved with bamboo. I always believed it was something that grows wild in the garden. This blew my mind when I saw the very things you could actually do with it. I wonder if in years to come, they would make a cruise ship out of bamboo?
  2. I would love to build a bamboo house. I was reading online in the past about how much cheaper bamboo is compared to other materials. It's beneficial as it's environmentally friendlier for our carbon footprint . It's sustainable and if treated well and properly, then it can last for a lifetime, otherwise it will be untreatable in just a few years.
  3. I've read that Starling is the next big thing with fast connectivity, and all ships will have this installed. So I understand the reason why you would have to pay more for better service, however if it's costing the cruise line less, then surely this should be passed on to its passengers.
  4. @3Sisters here's a question, to start a debate. What would you like to see made from bamboo? And the reason why.
  5. This seems to be universal in relationships. Always find that discussions are at awkward times, and require a window for these opportunities ha ha. My wife brings up conversations that she swears we discussed, and I know that we hadn't.
  6. Coming from a hospitality and catering background, I can confirm that the UK is too clean. It's over the top sometimes where everything is cleaned within an inch of its life. So many protocols in place, which doesn't allow any error, I sometimes think is it all necessary.
  7. So what water can we drink? If some countries rely on bottled waters, that is quite alarming to know as we require water in our bodies.
  8. Although me and my wife have been on a cruise before and enjoyed, this is the first time my son has been old enough to enjoy the vacation with us, however wants to take some gaming consoles with him. We've explained that we don't think we can take it with us onboard and that the ship has a gaming room for him to play in. But he asked if he could have a console in our stateroom for when we are having downtime in there? Is this something that cruise lines allow?
  9. My wife and I just booked a Viking experience on the shore excursions. It involves making weapons or some variation out of fire and flint, which I find awesome, and followed by archery and sword fighting followed by white water rafting. It may be expensive doing through the cruise line, however it's a one off experience and something I would always remember.
  10. We go back to the age old no communication and lack of customer service. Terrible from everyone these days, companies just simply do not care anymore, and we expect it now.
  11. You can buy crickets on Amazon? 🤣 Just when you think there must be something that even Amazon don't sell online, they prove they sell everything.
  12. Yes I've been to London and lived there for sometime and I agree that the water is really not nice to drink out of the taps from. Even when staying in hotels, I can't drink the teas or the coffees they have on offer, as I dislike the water that much.
  13. Oh wow, what a video, it startled me at first but then made me laugh out loud. What a weird concept, very entertaining but under no certain terms would I even be tempted to even eat that thing. I can't really see it making it onboard ships, as it's a very limited pallette that would be willing to even try.
  14. @Cruising Caribbean yes that's where I reside, and believe we are lucky when it comes to the water that we consume. Of course, it does help that we are probably one of the wettest country you will ever see, with just never ending rain all year round. But the water sure does taste good when it comes from your taps, as clear as you will ever get.
  15. What seems to be the issue with this ship? I haven't heard anything as of yet
  16. What we are looking for is companies to come out and say to people that they are sorry that customer service is not as good as it should be, and that there is no excuses for prices going up for little in return.
  17. Doesn't it annoy you when changes are made which makes us all mad, and in return we get the same pathetic excuse of blaming COVID.
  18. I've been several times to the Mediterranean, and I guarantee you will love the place. Not only is the weather stunning, but the locations and the views are something out of a picture book. I love seeing different locations around the Mediterranean, you really cannot get enough of it.
  19. I personally love the taste of Welsh water, it's such a soft sweet taste, I can't drink enough from the taps. The health benefits of drinking water is essential, that's why I think it's a disgrace to charge so much for water. Everyone has a right to drink clean fresh water without being charged the earth for it.
  20. @3Sisters yes I love seafood, and have grown up on it. So rich in flavours and textures. Yet, the meat dishes for me are also out of this world. The wagyu steak in particular is one of the best in the world.
  21. Yeah we are planning on the Mediterranean cruise next as we went for the Norwegian fjords cruise this time out and plan to go somewhere warm the next time. Greece and Italy are wonderful historical places, that me and the wife can visit, and hope to add a bit of culture to our young son. We fly over to Malta, which is another historical country in its own right.
  22. Nothing ever tastes the same as the coffee and tea in your own place. I guess you're used to the flavour of your own countries water, and can definitely taste the difference. So when I'm away, I never drink the hot drinks if I can help it, even though I get withdrawal symptoms.
  23. I'm glad some islands fight to survive keep their location environmentally free from large ships. Yes, it brings in finances and keeps the economy rolling, but their island is being destroyed, and then what will happen. It will have to be abandoned in the future because the reason passengers are going for is the beauty of the place.
  24. I love Japanese food. People always swear by their fish dishes, as we all know that's what they are known for and swear by, however I believe their meat dishes and steaks are out of this world.
  25. We haven't gone and booked MSC as previously discussed. We decided again to go on P&O. We do love the ships, and think it's so beautiful, we decided on this occasion to go back on it. Maybe after that we will look into going somewhere else.
