CDC's Level 4 Travel Notices

The CDC has recently been adding more cruise destinations on its level 4 list but it's important to know this doesn't mean that a cruise ship will stop sailing there. The cruise lines do work with local authorities on protocols and things like that, so hopefully, that does not change. So far, here is the list of the Caribbean destinations on the level 4 list:

• Antigua and Barbuda
• Aruba
• The Bahamas
• Belize
• Bermuda
• British Virgin Islands
• Curacao
• Jamaica
• Puerto Rico
• Panama
• St. Kitts and Nevis
• St. Lucia
• St. Maarten/St. Martin
• U.S. Virgin Islands

I hope the cruise industry will continue to make their own decisions about where to cruise. They do a great job without the help of the CDC.

It will be interesting to see which places are added to level 4 next. The cruise lines are doing well and it's good they continue to sail to these ports.

The CDC has added another two countries to the list but thankfully not major cruise destinations.

So, the CDC is at it again! Another country added to their list of bad places. If they can't rule over what cruise lines do directly, they will do it by telling folks where they shouldn't be traveling!

I wonder which one will be next. Don't think there are many left! Will also be interesting to see if the CDC Conditional Sailing Order will be extended or not at the end of the month.

The metrics the CDC & State Dept. use to calculate travel risk is ridiculous, simply because it completely ignores all 50 states of the USA. I mean if you look a the Brown's University color code level the 35 States are the same Level Red for new cases and deaths due to Covid as many of those cruise port countries. In fact currently the Bahamas and Puerto Rico has moved to Yellow, and Sint Maarten is now Orange.

It's constantly changing. The main thing is that cruise lines are ignoring all these notices, which is good. Florida is looking better than most areas in that map from Brown's University! That's a good sign.

Just checking the list today and no major Caribbean cruise destinations added to the level 4 list. Singapore is the latest since October 18.
