  1. You should be on the phone Royal Caribbean ASAP. Thay will probably reroute you to a nearby port for the cruise.

  3. Our cruise isn't until April 29th so as of yet, we are still showing Labadee as our destination. Our fingers are crossed that we head to Coco Cay instead. Thanks for asking Emrys!
  4. Well, according to the news this morning, Labadee is off the schedule for the next week or so. Good move RCL!
  5. Ok, here's to the elephant in the room. Is anybody concerned about the problems in Haiti right now? My wife and I have a cruise next month on the Allure and the only stop is at Labadee. I We have been there before and I know that there is only a chain link fence separating the port and the rest of the country. What's the chances that Royal will divert this cruise to Coco Cay or some real port? Any thoughts?
  6. Has anyone noticed that since the ICON arrived in Ponce that its location does not show up on the ship tracker map anymore? I didn't know that they had the option to turn off their location beacons that way. I know that according to the articles on them arriving there that they would be spending a few days in that port awaiting the arrival of their new crew members and finishing up some details and I am just wanting to watch the progress to Miami for the first time.
  7. Looks like they fixed the map! Thanks Cruise Hive!
  8. Has anyone noticed that the cruise ship tracker map has changed? I can't find the "filter" button anymore and I can't filter out to just get "passenger" vessels. Anybody got an idea??
  9. Having cruised with Royal for many years, I can honestly say that I can only think of a couple of meals that were not "decent". Sounds like there might have been too many lemons used in the meal choices on that cruise!
  10. My wife and I were on a Carnival cruise in November of '22 and the whole "lower rungs" thing was on displayed. In the cabin next to us was several young teenagers staying un- supervised as their parents were staying down the passageway a good distance from the kids. There was yelling and loud music and bumping into the wall on the other side of our headboard at all hours of the night! We mentioned it to the steward but nothing was done. You could hear them running up and down the hallway the whole voyage. We decided that since we were going on a Royal ship a week after we got back that we would just call it a common Carnival "Wal-Mart" cruise due to the cost of what we ended up paying for our cabin and just related it to what we see at the local Walmart store all of the time.
  11. It's the old "shallow end of the gene pool"!
  12. It seems to me that some people's "entitlement" has gotten to the point that they just don't give a flip about anybody else and can do whatever the hell they want!
  13. I have to wonder why the captain would wait on 1 passenger for 45 minutes in the first place?
  14. LOL! Boy, wouldn't hate to be the pilot that made that unfortunate move?!
  15. Shouldn't this be in the Princess thread?
  16. That would be Royal! We try and cruise Royal whenever we can as their crew and ships always seem to be just nicer to us.
  17. Royal's Zip line in Labadee Haiti is epic! Off the mountainside across a beach across the lagoon and onto the landing pad! It even ends right next to the bar!
  18. This would definitely be Port Canaveral! Close to home and that makes it easy to get off a ship on a Monday morning and be at work in just a few hours, therefore stretching the vacay time by just a little bit more!
  19. Hope it doesn't take anyone on a slow boat to China!
  20. There are not nearly as many "Piggly Wiggly" bags used as luggage in the Royal check-in lines! Or styrofoam coolers!
  21. @3Sisters Only as a guest performer for a couple of Parrot Head cruises! It was fun!
  22. I play in a tourist town so my playlist has to be a bit diverse. My favorites are the classic rock/ singer songwriter type songs from my youth. I also have a very large selection of Jimmy Buffett? Trop Rock tunes for the masses. I play on average 220 gigs a year and get to go home every night! Life is good!
  23. The hardest job would have to be a solo musician. Being one myself, I know the toll that performing a 4 hour gig 5 days a week can take on your body and voice. Imagine doing 5-6 gigs a day (1 hour at a time) in different venues all over the ship. We're talking about gigs starting sometimes mid-morning and going on until late evening. This goes on 7 days a week with very little time off. You even find the soloists playing on embarkation days when leaving the ports. Although most of the performers are treated a little better than other crew members, their contracts generally run 4-6 months. If you have problem with your gear during a cruise, there are no music stores in the middle of the ocean so you have to carry backups for your equipment. If your voice gives up, you're done. I checked into signing on at one point and realized the strain that such a gig would put on any personal life that you currently have. You have to be a special kind of "Solitary Man" to enroll in that lifestyle!
