Recently was on Harmony of the Seas in early November and can confirm they are NOT tails. They butterfly the lobster down the spine, and give you half the lobster (zero tail). This was lackluster to say the least, not only was it tiny in size - there was one fork of edible meat. Not worth it for even one if you ask me (unless they actually start giving the tails)

Hey @nick, One fork of edible meat! That's not worth it for sure. I'll have to keep an eye out on what is going on with other Royal Caribbean vessels.

My wife and I just returned from a Carnival cruise on the Conquest from the Port of Miami. While there was much to say about the cruise itself, our biggest complaint came as we returned to Miami on Friday morning and disembarked from the ship at a different terminal than the one we left from. While this may not be a problem for some, we had parked our car in the lot directly across from terminal D. We were now at terminal F with a long walk to our car. We are both seniors and not prepared to make this trek. My first thought was that other ships had come into port before we arrived, and the port had placed one of them at terminal D and it was not available. That was not the case. As we started our walk towards the walk to terminal D parking deck, I noticed that there were no other ships in port yet. The port did offer to load you and your luggage into buses and take you back to the terminal but at that point after waiting in line packed in like sardines just to get off the ship, why would you jam your bags into the belly of the beast and try and sit in bus seats with all of your carry-ons with everyone else that you just got some distance from. My wife made it to terminal E before she gave up and I walked on the retrieve the car and come back and load her and the bags into it and head home. In all of our previous cruises, this is the first time that has ever happened to us and it made no sense!

Hey @Jim Lamb, I wonder why they had to change the terminal! We've reported a few times about this for different ships and passengers are usually informed before the cruise, so must have been a last-minute change. Sorry you had to go through that, doesn't make a good experience at all. I would also not enjoy being on bus like that. How was the actual cruise?

So what "crew member privileges" are being restricted?  OP's post does not define this nor provide documentation of that assertion.

This is the only post that suggests what the restrictions are, but again no concrete evidence of that.

Lots of first time posters - I'm guessing all bots.  And anyway, paying customers should not have to compete with crew to utilize any of the facilities or services of the ship.  Pools, spas, food services are already too crowded most times.  They are there to work, not recreate.  On the Bermuda cruise I just left, crew were clearly given time to get off the ship for R&R, which is certainly reasonable.

Hey @HuliHuli, No bots here! Just a growing boards, and new users coming. I know on Carnival, they allow some crew to enjoy the guest areas, but only at certain times when those areas are not so busy. The crew also have to allow guests to go ahead in front of them, when there is a line. Sea days are often a no go for the crew in guest areas, as the ship is usually busier. Would have been better for NCL to just add some limitations like that instead. I do think the crew deserve to enjoy the guest areas too, especially as they can't all go ashore so much. It's all about timing it right, so it doesn't put more strain on guest services.

I agreee--Enchanted in March ...TA to Barcelona--we are Elite and done with Princess--We are not into the mega ships--we are trying out this one.  When they sold our favorite, Pacific Princess, and our 2nd fav, the Grand (which is in Australia--darn--we are now "jumping ship" to Regent.  Instead of 3 or  4 or 5 cruises a year, we will simply do 1 or 2--You were wonderful, Princess.  Bring the Grand back to the states!

I do think that lines such as Princess Cruises still need to construct smaller ships, not everyone likes those huge mega-ships. I like what Norwegian did with their Prima-class, which has a lower gross tonnage.

Ok we are taking a chance that ‘rona protocols/vax & testing requirements are NOT returning this winter. We just booked our first post-rona cruise on the Celebrity Millennium leaving out of San Juan in February. We booked Aqua Class because it included tips, wifi, and adult beverages. Concierge class was more expensive when adding the extras and standard verandas were not a lot cheaper. Worth it to us to spend a bit extra For the larger cabins.

If mandates return, we are screwed because we did not purchase travel insurance. Fingers crossed.  Jammies inside out.

@FJB, fingers crossed for you! I don't think the protocols will return, especially now that the CDC is out of the picture.

Hey @joe, maybe you could let us know what issues you came across and what happened?

  7. I don't think Carnival Cruise line has ever been as good as other major cruise lines when it comes to some of the lido dining options. However, I do like their steakhouse, one of the best I've had! It is a tricky situation for sure with all the food waste, especially when it comes to room service. Hopefully, they'll get a handle on things as the cruise industry returns to some normality.

Are Princess ships (Regal) sailing at Full capacity in the Meditterabean? Have there been any onboard cases of Covid?

Hey @CruiseKing, thanks so much for posting! Cruise line don't typically reveal the capacity of each vessel, but I'm sure any guests currently onboard can have a rough feeling if it's full or not.

What is your preferred type of balcony cabin on Celebrity ships - Infinite veranda, sunset veranda, “hump” veranda, or the standard veranda?

I prefer the forward facing “hump” verandas on the Solstice class ships, especially those that are a bit larger than the rest. We have had an infinite veranda on the Edge but I wasn’t a fan. I like to sit out on the balcony - the wife and kid not so much.  The infinite doesn’t work for “mixed” families lol. We have never had a sunset veranda so can’t speak to that type. My second favorite would be the standard or concierge class verandas that are directly under the overhang. I don’t care to be in direct sunlight.

    What say you?

Any type of cabin will do me, as long as it's on a cruise ship! 😂
