There's been a lot of confusion over the past week after Norwegian Cruise Line banned selling and serving alcohol on its ships when in a UK port. Has anyone experienced this onboard? Is anyone currently on a UK cruise?

@Mike_P, in these cases, they will usually put on some extra training for the crew and increase the work hours to ensure all the issues are resolved. I doubt they will come down on any individual crew member. More about the entire department and working extra hard to make things better ready for the follow-up inspection, which they really must pass!

It looks like Carnival is also introducing a fee for Chibang on Mardi Gras. Unfortunately, it's how the entire world is going now, and cruise lines are not exempt from it. We're going to keep hearing of many changes throughout the year, including Carnival's updated loyalty program, I'm sure!

And now for something completely different (bored with seaweed)….. a PSA:
Per the National Hurricane Center: Every year, the Atlantic hurricane season officially begins on June 1, and ends on November 30. The National Hurricane Center begins issuing its daily tropical outlook on May 15.
AccuWeather projections indicate that the 2023 Atlantic season will be near the historical average with 11 to 15 named storms. Four to eight of those named storms are expected to reach hurricane strength, with one to three of those hurricanes achieving major hurricane status. A major hurricane is one that has maximum sustained winds of 111 mph or higher (CAT 3).
Why yes, it does impact cruise ships, typically ships move soon enough and quickly enough to get out of the way. The season usually peaks around September. Anyone for a cruise?
We're coming up to another Hurricane season! Feels like the last one not long finished!

Well, here it is Thursday morning and the "fix" is broke again. I'm back to looking at the home page instead of the News page.
We're working on it, I guess that fix did not work!

We are going on the Millennium - our 3rd time on this particular ship, 1st time since it has been “revolutionized”.
I actually just noticed above that you already said you booked that ship! I should have checked, lol. I can see that the dry dock was completed in February 2019, so fairly fresh for sure. if anyone wants some quick details and stats on the Celebrity Millennium, this might help:

30 days away from our 1st post ‘rona cruise, so just finished completing the online check-in. Exciting! So far, no return of the face diapers on cruises so it looks like we are in the clear. The stars, moons, and sun are lining up...
You will have to keep us updated on how the cruise goes. Which ship is it?

Thanks Emyrs! It seems to be working fine now!
Glad to hear! Have a nice weekend!

It was related to a cache issue for that category page. We have now found the issue and is being permanently resolved. Sorry about that @Jim Lamb. If you ever have any more issues in the future, feel free to post here and we'll be happy to help!

On the last Royal Caribbean cruise I found that the pools were the highlight. I like what they have on the Quantum-class cruise ships with the indoor pool area. not so handy when in the Caribbean, but good for those ships that sail in the colder waters from the UK.

Doing my usual thing and looking for the best cruise to go away on, I was surprised to read that aboard princess cruises, all inclusive cruises cost from £40pp per day. In todays tight economy, surely that must a steal. Am I correct in thinking that?
It's Wave Season right now, which is a period of the year when cruise line tend to lower cruise fares to fill up ships for the upcoming summer season.

For me, it would have to be the pool and the Aqua Park. My son really enjoys the swimming element of cruising, so that's always important for us. However, as someone who has worked in the industry for a long time, I like everything!!

We went on our 2nd transatlantic cruise this year and no internet for days on each cruise. This has caused us to cancel future cruises with Princess.
We gave never had this problem before. Very upset. Not acceptable. No excuse.
The good thing is that the cruise line, along with other Carnival-owned brands are have SpaceX's Starlink installed through the year, which would improve things a lot. The era of slow internet on cruise ships and lack of connectivity are almost over.

Silhouette now has Star Link. Currently on-board and have a small notice in our room regarding this.
Works great, but we have streaming. Our friends dont have streaming and dont seem to have as good of connection. That's great news for sure! It's rolling out across Carnival brands too. Will be on most ships by the end of this year.

There's one venue that is always at the top of my list, and that Guy's Burger Joint, with probably the best burgers at sea! The only problem, is that it's easy to eat too much junk food, so maybe one or twice during the voyage is best.
You mean this one? Can't beat it!

By far it has to be Cozumel, Mexico. The port of call has everything and I always found that there was a good atmosphere there. Having a late departure is best!
