If you are impressed by Azamara's golf tour program, you should truly dig into it a bit further. Azamara's golf cruises visit over 25 countries and play on over 80 different courses. It's such an all inclusive experience too! All green fees, cart fees, and gratuities are covered alongside ready to go equipment and transportation.

My husband would absolutely love a guys cruise like this. I also love that the golf tours are not short lived; the duration of these cruises give guests ample time to explore and enjoy several different golf courses throughout the length of the itinerary.

@LukeJ That is probably a great idea! I don't know if he would enjoy it very much without a friendly golf partner tagging along. In fact, I would likely avoid the golf altogether and go for the food/shopping instead. How long have you been a golfer? My husband picked it up within the last couple of years and hasn't looked back since. The idea of playing golf around the world would be so exciting for him!

I just did some digging on the per person pricing, and it is absolutely a hefty price point. I think we may need to save up a few years in order to fit an extravagant experience like this into our budget. I do, however, appreciate the vast amount of options and time frames offered. Some of the Azamara golf tour options are available into the year 2025. That would provide me ample time to budget appropriately.

The prices are separated out into a traditional cruise fare price and an additional golf package price. The combination price, plus the plane ticket to the embarkation port would roughly be about a minimum cost of 10k. https://www.perrygolf.com/golfcruising/mediterranean-islands-golf-cruise-2024-may28.php?utm_source=Azamara&utm_medium=Website2024May28MediterraneanIslandsGolfCruise&utm_term=Website2024May28MediterraneanIslandsGolfCruise&utm_content=2024May28MediterraneanIslandsGolfCruise&utm_campaign=Azamara+Club+Cruises#fndtn-panel7

@3Sisters I started playing in my teens, going to the golf range with my father and was hooked really from there. So I've been playing on and off for the past 25 years or so. But then again, that's been the case with most sports.

@LukeJ That's so nice you had the opportunity to learn at such a young age! It's incredible you still enjoy the game after playing it for 25 years. Is golf your favorite sport you play? What other sports do you enjoy? I love that so many cruise ships now offer a variety of spaces to play sports onboard.

My brother used to love playing pingpong as a child when we would cruise. He would often beat the adults during a tournament and win a metal! Although I didn't usually win competitions, I do have a fond memory of winning a Carnival Cruise Line soft serve ice cream eating contest as a child. I think the cruise line has since limited the amount of soft serve onboard during certain hours of the day. In fact, this was about 20 years ago; so it has been many years.

My brother and I also enjoy tennis. I just found that Carnival Cruise Line's ship, Carnival Conquest, has a pickleball court onboard! We would have had so much fun playing there as kids.

@3Sisters yes I continue to love the sport. Getting fresh air and playing something you love is what it's all about. I do enjoy most sports and try to play as much as I can. I used to play football and badminton too, and was members of teams. So if the cruises could even introduce badminton or squash, that would be outstanding. I wonder what sport from the world people would love to see on a cruise liner?

@LukeJ I think squash is a really great one! I used to play racquetball with my brother as a child, and it was the best workout! Racketball is usually outdoors, so there would likely need to be a really high net provided or there would be several tennis balls sent off to sea. I found that AIDA Cruises' 69,203-ton ship, AIDAdiva has a glass squash court onboard! If you are looking for something new and to play squash onboard a cruise, this is an option for you! Have you cruised with AIDA Cruises in the past? The cruise line is owned by Carnival Corporation.

@FJB I had no idea what curling was! I had to look it up. It's such a cool combination of ice hokey and shuffleboard. Curling wouldn't be a difficult sport to add to a cruise ship that has an existing iceskating rink onboard. It's a decently safe sport too. Do you participate in curling? Where is it commonly played?

Yes squash is a fantastic sport, and a glass court would still be awesome to see. I'm wondering if rock climbing would be a good pastime. One thing I think my inner child would dream of is a large pool slide working it's way outside the cruise so as you are sliding around, it's clear slide you can see the whole ocean

@LukeJI have seen parts of the entryway of a squash court to be glass but not the entire court. Rock climbing is tons of fun, but it's a difficult workout! My fingers often cramp when I do more than like 5-10 minutes at a time. It works every muscle in your body down to your toes. Lots of cruise ships now have rock climbing onboard because its pretty safe and secure while harnessed in.

Another amenity most mainstream cruise line's have is a water slide! I have been on a clear waterslide onboard an MSC Cruises' ship. From my experience it's not really that impressive because you slide down so quickly you can't really see anything below. It's a very cool concept but not very scenic. Maybe if I was to go down on my stomach and wear goggles I would get a better view, but that would be against slide policies.

Royal Caribbean's new ship, Icon of the Seas, will have the largest waterpark at sea! It will feature six waterslide options!

MSC Cruises offers a Bridge of Sighs onboard some of its ships. This is a glass-bottomed walkway that has amazing views! Take a look at this clip of it to see what I'm referring to.

Some Princess ships have something similar.

It's a dream come true to do something like that with the slide, and unfortunately @Kendall James-Vargas, I agree it goes against pool rules, and you can't break them lol. As for the glass bottomed walkway, my stomach already dipped just even thinking about walking over one of them, not for me that.

@FJB How does the one on the Princess Cruises' ships compare? I really enjoy walking on it; the views are incredible. This bridge makes for an amazing photo opportunity too!

I definitely don't want to break any rules while on the cruise ship. Anything that would hinder me from cruising again is certainly not a good choice! For those that have a fear of heights, the Bridge of Sighs wouldn't be a good idea. An infinity pool, however, has similar beauty without such a fear factor.

One of P&O Cruises' ships, 185,000 gross ton Ariva, features a gorgeous  infinity pool

@LukeJ I haven't heard of the "The infinity pool" movie until now! I have to look it up. Is it a true story? I don't know if I would like it very much if it's based on true facts. I enjoy swimming in infinity pools, so if it would give me fear of them, then it's definitely not for me. @FJB Have you heard of this movie?

I have watched the trailer and that was enough for me. I'm not really into horror films, and definitely not if I'm about to go in an infinity pool myself lol

Royal Caribbean will be offering more short cruise options for the 2024-2025 season! These 3, 4, and 5-night itinerary options will depart from Texas, California, and of course Florida. Do you prefer shorter or longer cruises? I always tend to prefer at least a 7-night cruise experience to truly unwind, but it is occasionally easier to book a shorter weekend cruise due to work schedules.

It's the same as most holidays, people always feel a week is far too short and the fortnight can feel too long so most are happy to average that out and then days would be the ideal time away. However, on a cruise, this may differ as there is many more things to do onboard and stop offs.

Royal Caribbean is fun no matter how long your cruise is! I love the nighttime entertainment options onboard. It's something I don't get to experience often so even if I'm sailing on a 3-night getaway, I still get all of the good amenities of a longer cruise. Even if my schedule doesn't allow for longer cruises, I know it's still going to be a good time. I just hope the cruise entertainment doesn't become sparse or at an additional cost like some other cruise lines.
