Your Favorite Onboard Activity

When cruising with Royal Caribbean, what is you favorite onboard activity?

The audience participation show “Quest” is always fun and I always like the “Newlywed Not So Newlywed “ show.

Has to be fencing and archery. Sounds like a liad of fun

@FJB The Quest is always the best night time entertainment! I prefer it over a show in the theatre actually. Although I wouldn't want to participate, it's the most hilarious event of any cruise. The Newlywed Show is also fun! On my honeymoon we participated as the couple with the least amount of days married, also known as the newest newlyweds. 

@LukeJ Yes, I actually really enjoy archery. I'm not very good though. I don't know if I would be bold enough for fencing. I haven't tried it. Have you ever fenced before?

@Kendall James-Vargas no I haven't fenced but sounds like something I would be interested in. I have done archery and enjoyed it immensely

@LukeJ I guess we are on the same page! The cruise line actually offers lessons for beginner too. Have you ever done bumper cars on a ship? I didn't know that was even an offering until I explored Royal Caribbean's amenities in depth!

@LukeJ I agree! Cruising has evolved so much over the course of the last ten years, especially for Royal Caribbean! Have you heard of The Key? It's an exclusive add on to cruise with VIP style amenities. I have yet to experience it, as it is a new program, but it seems really luxurious.

Just been reading this online. It will certainly make you feel like VIP. I'm guessing it will be the full pampering holiday

@LukeJ Yes, I recently learned about the program as well. Some of the major benefits include priority port departures and VIP access to shows in the main theatre! I found The Key program starts at $24.99 per person per day, depending on the sailing. This actually seems pretty reasonable considering all of the specialty treatment guests receive. It's only sold to a limited amount of guests per sailing, making it really exclusive.

The lifestyle of the rich and famous for one week. That's what I tell my children, you can have ice cream everyday for seven days, on a cruise once a year. Dessert everyday is only for vacation! This also applies to chocolate milk.

My vote is pool and poolside activities. I love playing out in the sun on vacation, and attempting a good tan. I particularly love watching the games out by the pool. I'm not usually one to participate in the wild games, but watching them is always a good time.

@LukeJ Although I am not very into golf, Royal Caribbean's luxury cruise line, Azamara, has a partnership with PerryGolf and offers some amazing golf-intensive itineraries. This month, Azamara Journey will embark from South Africa featuring post-cruise golf options. It's something worth looking into!

I am sold. I enjoy holidays where you can do a ton of activities. All depends on the person, some enjoy relaxing but I'd rather be active.

On the last Royal Caribbean cruise I found that the pools were the highlight. I like what they have on the Quantum-class cruise ships with the indoor pool area. not so handy when in the Caribbean, but good for those ships that sail in the colder waters from the UK.

@LukeJ Are you an avid golfer? Have you cruised with Azamara before? Based on your preferences, I truly think this experience would be your ultimate cruise vacation! You should check out the cruise line, if you haven't already. 

 

Azamara will be opening its new headquarters in Coconut Grove, near PortMiami pretty soon!

Speaking of Quantum-class ships, Quantum of the Seas has so many cool features! The ship even has robot bartenders! I love a good indoor pool area as well; it really comes in handy when you are sunburnt from days prior.

@Kendall James-Vargas yes I am a very keen golfer. I love the whole thing. The hours played, the game itself, the company kept whilst playing. I would definitely be up for anything like that

@LukeJ You do sound like a golf lover. I guess if you were to cruise on a golf tour, you would want to bring along your preferred clubs. That could be some additional heavy lifting. 

Have you ever played some mini golf while onboard a ship?

P&O Cruises' LNG-powered ship Ariva has a nine-hole course, along with several other popular ships. I personally really enjoy mini golf on at sea. It seems I'm not the only one because they are being added to so many new ships!
