  1. @FJB I love the crumber too! I'm pretty sure that's what it is called. I can guarantee you this isn't happening in my home. Sometimes I wish I had a dog to clean up the extra food mess off of the floor. One thing a dog couldn't do is pick up your candy wrappers.

@SpaceCowboy9Yes, I feel exactly the same! I don't mind an interior stateroom because I'm barely in it at all, and when I'm sleeping I love it dark so it's perfect. I enjoy the map channel and the lobby music. That's all I need!

  2. @Freedomlass This is not fair at all! I had no idea about this, but I think this is a flawed system. I hope Princess Cruises corrects this.

@Oldgirl50 This is such a scam. If you are paying for the premium plus package, you deserve all the perks that come with the package. You are paying for it!

@OzVoyager I hope you can get through in the Green Lane like the app is showing! If they give you any pushback just show a screenshot of the app. Princess Cruises needs to honor this, even if they don't give you a Medallion ahead of time as they should. Why is the cruise line so discriminatory in this way?

  3. @Louise Urbas Thanks for the suggestion! The bilingual signage is a total bonus.

@Oldgirl50 If you don't mind me asking, what about the marketplace (horizon court) did you dislike? For such a lovely ship, I'm curious what's going on with the horizon court.

@Rhonda lindenbaum This is going to be a great itinerary! If you have enjoyed Ruby Princess in the past, you will definitely enjoy Majestic Princess. Do you intend to get the drink package onboard?

  4. @LukeJ Many of my American friends don't always say the most positive things about MSC Cruises' food offerings, but I feel in total opposition to that. If it isn't overly processed burgers and BBQ ribs 24/7 I think US guests think negatively of the line. MSC Cruises offers a huge selection from fresh whipped cream and berries for french toast to the most intense yogurt bar. The mozzarella is not so salty like the American way, but if you want it to be more salty then you just need to add salt which is readily available to use at your discretion. Also, MSC Cruises doesn't limit how many items you order in the MDR. I have heard so many different cruise lines limiting guests lately. The portions may be smaller than other lines but I prefer it this way so I can actually eat all of my courses. Also if I crave another portion, all I have to do is ask! The pizza is by far the best of any line I have cruised with. My favorite offering is the white pizza with bacon which flys off of the food line pretty quickly.

  5. @LukeJ I have been on MSC Cruises lots of times recently, including masked because I couldn't stay away from cruising. I have two more MSC Cruises booked up as well, so I'm an avid guest with this cruise line. The food and dining are unlike the traditional US options that would find on lines such as RCL and CCL. To be clear, I prefer the quality and the options better on MSC Cruises. I do not prefer the generic, Americanized options many of the US-based cruise lines offer on repeat. To begin the cruise line makes its mozzarella, croissants, and pasta onboard. Their pizza, pasta, and pastries are phenomenal, far better than a US-based cruise line. This is because it's European! Don't expect basic, fake-Italian pizza and toppings. You will get to experience high-quality pizzas and toppings that aren't overwhelmed with sauce. The pizza is so very amazing onboard. The options of yogurt and marmalades highlight the European culture onboard. I order pasta for dinner most nights as it is so genuinely fresh and authentic. The cheese selections are beyond delicious and unusual to the traditional American spread. In the MDR you will find more Italian food choices, that taste authentic. Don't skip out on the fruit and cheese platter as a dessert. Also, the bread baskets are the bomb. I hope this helps answer your question!

  6. @Seaawgs That's right! Biscuits and gravy night wouldn't be a French chef's favorite night, but I do think it would be a guest favorite! A Crreole night would be so fabulous, I actually see more Creole fusions onboard than country options. Wow, you have a triple threat coming up! It sounds like you may be cruising most of the month! I bet you will be coming back from this series of itineraries nice and tan. Will all of those itineraries be the exact same each go? The maiden voyage is more than cool, you get to experience the clean and pristine beauty of the ship! Maybe Celebrity Beyond will have some special festivities during this maiden voyage for guests!

  7. Wow, I love the idea of being refunded for the glass recyclables you return. This strategy would likely not work for cruise ships because cruise guests aren't responsible for their own waste. It's actually hard to find places to recycle onboard, which is such a shame. There should be more recycling options onboard. Reducing plastic bottled waste is a must. I wonder what cruise lines will end up doing when the time comes to continue to cut down on this area of plastic waste. I have noticed stainless steel bottles at some of the private beaches and marine reserves. These have been included in the drink packages for some cruise lines off-ship but onboard the ship it's still a plastic-only option.

  8. @Kristen Walter Will you be flying into the Adelaide International Airport? You should be getting particularly amazing weather in January ranging from the high 80s to the low 60s. Evening stargazing in the jacuzzi would be perfect in this climate! It would be a great choice if you could find a hotel that included an airport shuttle option. Possibly booking the Quest Port Adelaide could give you accessibility to walk everywhere and not have to spend an arm and a leg on taxi fare. Also, a hotel like that has studio and apartment options with more space to relax and unwind.

  9. @FJBThat's in no way shape or form hate speech. That's actually ridiculous. In fact, it's really upsetting that the other forum chose to discriminate against you in that way. Obviously, this just wasn't a topic or point of view the site wanted. A forum is meant for healthy debate and discussion, not biased one-sided approaches like much of our media today. I'm glad you chose another place to share your cruise knowledge with. Also, the cool kids in high school didn't always turn out the same in older age. Conforming to others is never the right choice. I'm a huge advocate for sticking to your intuition and valuing your individuality above all. Diversity in others' opinions is much more interesting than a one-sided perspective.

  10. I'm sure the whole European Disney park has changed and enhanced significantly since the last time you visited. That's awful! Did you get food poisoning from an outside food vendor? Roller coasters and a sour stomach just don't mix well. What a shame your experience ended up that way. Food poisoning is so awful; I got food poisoning while pregnant. That was the worst, hugging the toilet with a giant belly in the way at a hotel. I feel like every time my family gets a sour stomach is when we are traveling actually. Thankfully, this hasn't happened on a cruise to me before!

  11. @Seaawgs That's so exciting! Have you cruised with any other fleet members or Edge Series ships? A country boy menu sounds delicious too! I think Celebrity Cruises should consider that actually. I believe others would enjoy this style too. Biscuits and gravy would be a great addition! I looked into this maiden voyage itinerary and all interior and ocean-view staterooms are already sold out. I anticipate you will be cruising on a very full ship. Out of all the stops on this itinerary, my favorite is St. Thomas. The beaches are the best! Have you visited there before?

  12. Celebrity Cruises new ship, Celebrity Ascent, will be providing guests with new culinary options onboard. Celebrity Ascent is set to begin cruising on November 2023, now with some awesome new beverage and dining experiences! The new seven-course plant-based menu sounds delicious. I'm intrigued to try it and I don't even eat a plant-based diet. Is anyone booked on Celebrity Ascent yet?

  13. One thing is for sure, being a captain holds so much responsibility. Technically the captain is responsible for the safety of everyone onboard, and if anything goes wrong it falls on that person's shoulders. I wouldn't want that responsibility. The captain could have been rushing to dock because the itinerary was behind schedule and then this happens. I can't imagine having to maneuver this massive ship in moving water.... It takes many different people to dock such a massive vessel like this.

  14. Yes, buying expensive clothing is not necessary. Good quality is a must, but name brands don't really matter. I prefer to sacrifice name-brand items for a cruise experience. To be honest the cost of an expensive, luxury purse or bracelet is the same as a week-long vacation. I have started to ask my husband for cruise vacation gifts instead of high-end fashion. I will stick with my generic t-shirt and bring it on my cruise for irreplaceable memories!

  15. @Maggie Mae Marentette This is a good thought. I'm not sure CCL is the line for this. There are other great adult-only cruise lines that better fit this cruising experience. I see the value in a more peaceful, simplified cruising style, but I think this is a big ask for Carnival Cruise Line. What you described attracts a certain demographic, whereas CCL is geared towards attracting everyone with its fun ships. Have you been on an adult-only ship before? You may find exactly what you are looking for cruising with another line!

  16. Not all the info has been released yet but here is the Cruise Hive article associated with the photo. https://www.cruisehive.com/passengers-captured-sitting-on-cruise-ship-balcony-railings/107486

This article shows more recent incidents of young children/adults making poor choices onboard cruise ships. This is an awful way to risk your life and a lifetime of cruising because it 100% breaks the safety rules of all cruise ships.

  17. RCL cruise guests were spotted sitting on the balcony railing with their feet dangling over the edge. I'm terrified just looking at this photo. It appears to be one of Royal Caribbean's Radiance-class ships. These passengers are seemingly young adults or children. This is just so unsafe and not smart at all! Have you seen anything like this before off of your cruise balcony? I wouldn't dare!

  18. I have confirmed from a friend that just got back from a Disney cruise that it is indeed a magical cruise experience. So, she probably would be unphased by this specialty restaurant price increase. If anything, the onboard restaurants will be booked out because of how amazing the Disney Cruise Line experience is. I guess I need to get on one of these ships and see for myself.

That's an interesting way to have a Disney+ membership, via a bank! I'm so curious about Disney World in Europe. Does it have the same four parks of Epcot, Animal Kingdom, MGM, and Magic Kingdom?

  19. @FJB I love that wine! This is the life! I'm glad you are back on the boards catching up. Your posts are always a good time. Also, it looks like you live in paradise. It's very sunny and you have the great outdoors in the shade. With some of these recent high temps in the US, shade is most necessary in the middle of the day. Even in the pool, I have been getting so hot this summer!

  20. @FJB CCL suspended the search of the overboard passenger too. My heart goes out to Jaylen Hill (only 30 years old) and family. Apparently, he jumped from the CCL ship. This is so tragic. Should cruise lines be doing mental health checks for guests? I just hate seeing these stories on the news. I wish there was a way to stop these situations from occurring.

  21. @FJB I love how you can feel like you can be yourself on these boards! I enjoy reading your posts and getting a laugh out of many. As long as no one is mean and abrasive to others, I think the diversity in opinions makes for a better forum! I am not the type to bow to our government and believe everything we are told. That's one of the reasons I enjoy these boards. I don't have to filter my feedback, and I can be myself.

  22. @FJB I actually think that's such a smart idea! From a wife's perspective, doing special things like that definitely earn some serious bonus points. I haven't heard of a "Christmas market cruise." Is this just the traditional Christmas itinerary with a special meal and decor or is there more to this themed cruise? It sounds like a win-win. You get to cruise (ultimate vacation) and your wife gets to celebrate Christmas on a ship with a super relaxed husband! Does Viking have a Christmas itinerary that interests you?

  23. @FJB That's very true! Hopefully @Leisa Slensby gives us an update! It sounds like a very upsetting situation but an update would be nice. Fraudulent charges should be handled onboard before you get off the ship, after that you can't really go retroactive. The cruise lines aren't interested in handling matters of the past.
