Unlike a lot of Caribbean ports, I think Key West will survive without cruise ships.

Why are you considering travel insurance- age, medical issues, family issues? Are you looking for cancel-for-whatever-reason insurance or just insurance to cover medical? We’ve only purchased travel insurance for 2 trips out of more than 30 vacations/cruises we’ve taken over the years - once for our Australia/NZ cruise vacation only because of all of the moving parts for this 3 week trip and the other for a 7 day Caribbean cruise we took early this year. The reason we did it for this one was because when we booked the cruise last fall, there was talk of the bat soup flu returning and I refused to get the clot shot or wear a face diaper for a cruise. No claim on either policy and no other issues thru the years with traveling that would require insurance. By my calculations, we have saved enough by not purchasing travel insurance to take 2 additional cruises. YMMV

I am my own boss - I am a grain farmer (born and raised on the farm) and hardware store owner. I love my job, which isn’t really a job since I love what I do. For the most part it’s very chill. A travel agent job may not be as enjoyable dealing with people always looking for a deal and the perfect selfie picture vacation spot. The first thing I tell new hires at my hardware store is “the customer is wrong until proven right”. After more than 20 years in retail, I’ve learned customers are always trying to pull one over on ya - you can’t trust ‘em!

I’m not a fan of Mexican food. I’ve always said there is only 3 or 4 pots of food in the kitchen of a Mexican restaurant. Depending on what you order depends on what pots they dip from. I’ll have the #14 - ok that’s one scoop from pot 2, two scoops from pot 3, and a scoop from #4. oh you want #33 - that’s one scoop each from pot 1,2, & 3.

If a cruise ship is cruising into a a ship canal, which ship canal is the cruise ship sailing into? yeah yeah I know - that was a lame attempt. Almost as bad as a ship on a stick.

Our first Celebrity cruise was on the Century in February 1997. We went to Ochoa Rios, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Key West. This cruise does show up in our portfolio of cruises with Celebrity, but it’s probably because our second cruise with them was in 2000 on the Mercury followed by 15 more cruises with Celebrity since then. I’m guessing yours is not showing up because of the timespan between cruises, and during the early days, you were not automatically enrolled in the frequent rowing programs - you had to make an effort to sign up to become a member with some type of application form, if I remember correctly. But at my age, correct memory is….wait what am I doing here? The train? Yeah bring me a coke please.

Just a cruise for some friends who want a do over. We took them on their first cruise 10 years ago and the weather was terrible, with one canceled port. Ever since they have been wanting to do another, so I’m trying to get it done. I don’t mind doing the planning for groups - I like to be in charge! As I’ve said on here previously, I’ve organized cruises for as many as 60 people.

I did some looking and have a cruise in mind but still wrestling up the rest of the gang (7 more) to get onboard before putting down the deposit.

Did anyone score any great deals for cruises on Black Friday?

Cracker meal is the only breading to use! We just fry them in a cast iron pan with some oil. Not sure I would buy frozen oysters - fresh only.

I am thankful that I got the sewer line unclogged today down at the farm house - took me all day but I got it done. I’m also thankful that my brother is bringing me a pint of fresh oysters tomorrow so I can enjoy some fried oysters 🦪 for thanksgiving dinner!

HAL skews a much older crowd in my past experience- 50+ with very few kids. NCL is not my cup of tea because of the crowds, especially kids, but it was a Christmas cruise that we went on with NCL so probably 5 times more kids. There will be much more on an NCL ship to keep kids occupied. My family is very laid back so we would choose HAL before NCL. YMMV

We get about 90 mins of free internet thru our cruise loyalty program. That is enuff to put out any fires that may be occurring at home. Otherwise, our connected devices stay in the safe.

You are saving a lot of money by having your kids do your hair - That means more money for cruising!
