  1. Zero travel restrictions to Belize - yay! https://www.cruisehive.com/belize-drops-all-restrictions-for-cruise-travel/76774
  2. Just catching up on cruise news on a beautiful Friday evening with a cool adult beverage- almost as good as sitting on a cruise ship balcony waiting for dinner!
  3. Kids sale free-yay! https://www.cruisehive.com/princess-cruises-launches-kids-sail-free-promotion/76645
  4. Oh your poor kids! ⓁⓄⓁ We only have the one so she may be a bit spoiled- mostly verandas, an occasional mini-suite, one inside and one or 2 ocean views. But she is just about the age she is moving out and will have to buy her own cabin so will be interesting to see what she chooses...

#31 Mr Sanchos - Probably our favorite thing about Cozumel!
  6. Has she fought to lift all mask and vaccine mandates on cruise ships? Has she fought for a passenger bill of rights for cruisers? I doubt it.
  7. Good luck! The cruise contract lays it all out and is 110% in favor of the cruise company. But I do agree with you - we as passengers should have better options to make the cruiselines live up to their promises. It doesn’t help that most are flagged in foreign countries to make it harder to go after them.
  8. @EmrysI look forward to following along with your adventures- good luck!
  9. Great observation. I have “Carnival” friends that did the Caribbean on one of MSC’s new ships. They booked another. They are value shoppers, not concerned about how many sardines are packed in the can but how much the can costs - the cheaper the better. PS - I don’t say Carnival friends as derogatory, only that their 1st choice in cruise lines is Carnival. We have been on a couple of Carnival cruises but our loyalty leans toward Celebrity.
  10. We have not done the family veranda - no need with only one kid, who is now 22 so will probably have her own cabin on the next cruise. Maybe when there are grandkids... Like you I am not a morning person either, but being a farmer I love being outside and watching the sun and weather in general.
  11. That other cruise critical website claims to be all things cruise related but I have realized the last 2 years how liberal they are and how much they censor. They don’t post any news that puts the cruise industry in a negative light. They censor any posts on their open forums that don’t agree with their liberal narrative. Cruisehive’s news section is great - lots of cruise news not found on that other site. I wish the forums here were more active - no censoring so far. Both sides need to be heard.
  12. What is your preferred type of balcony cabin on Celebrity ships - Infinite veranda, sunset veranda, “hump” veranda, or the standard veranda? I prefer the forward facing “hump” verandas on the Solstice class ships, especially those that are a bit larger than the rest. We have had an infinite veranda on the Edge but I wasn’t a fan. I like to sit out on the balcony - the wife and kid not so much. The infinite doesn’t work for “mixed” families lol. We have never had a sunset veranda so can’t speak to that type. My second favorite would be the standard or concierge class verandas that are directly under the overhang. I don’t care to be in direct sunlight. What say you?
  13. It’s time to move on with life. You are just as likely to get sick from Walmart as you are on a cruise. IMO Good luck - enjoy your cruise.
  14. Would not be surprised if they have stopped mailing them. Another way to save money and stay afloat. The beauty of the Tags mailed to you was that they were self adhesive. With the ones I have to print, then the morning of the cruise I’m in my hotel room trying to figure out how to attach them to my bags. I don’t wanna have to pack tape or a stapler-just another thing to be concerned about on vacation.
  15. Hoping by the end of the year shots no longer required to cruise! But sadly at this moment they are required.
  16. Should have added you are up close and personal to the canal locks. Can actually touch the walls of the locks via this excursion.
  17. A shore excUrsion is available to traverse part of the canal in a smaller boat. You see more this way than going via cruise ship. JMHO
  18. But I don’t believe there is a cruiseline yet to get rid of the vax mandate. That will be a game changer when it happens.
  19. We can only hope sooner rather than later. Most of the country is done with the rona!
