Cruising with a CPAP

Recommended Posts

Hello!
I will be cruising soon on Carnival Sunshine for the first time with a CPAP machine.   I don’t recall there being outlets near the bed.  How did you plug up your machine?  Tips for traveling with a CPAP welcomed!

I always have my CPAP machine in carry on luggage and bring my own extension cord. For many cabins (and motel rooms), the nearest outlet seems to always be across from the foot of the bed; on cruise ships it's typically at the desk. I do not take the humidifier and have not had an issue with 'drying out'. Obviously this is a personal choice. I believe ocean air is rather humid to start with. Just too much hassle for me to lug around the humidifier and also source distilled water (yes, it can be bought on board). I set up the machine each night and put it away each morning, mainly to keep the cabin attendant from tripping over the cord or knocking it around as they clean.
