msb61
Hi. We will be on the Celebrity Constellation in December. I'm trying to book excursions but I have questions. After 3 calls to Celebrity, unfortunately they can only tell you what you can already read on their website. And for some reason, Celebrity removed excursion reviews a few years ago. Does anyone know (1) where to find reviews of Celebrity excursions or (2) how to get answers to basic questions about Celebrity excursions? Thanks. 1
Cruising Caribbean
@msb61 Will this be your first time cruising with Celebrity Cruises? I think you are going to have an awesome time onboard Celebrity Constellation in December. That's annoying that the cruise line removed the excursion reviews. That's a great way to get a feel for what the excursion is like from a more personal perspective. I would post on this forum about which particular excursions you are interested in, and I'm sure someone on here has taken part in a few of them before. There are lots of board members that enjoy cruising with Celebrity Cruises quite frequently. Where will your Celebrity Constellation cruise be stopping, and which excursions are you looking into? msb61
@Cruising Caribbean We have actually sailed Celebrity numerous times in the past. For some reason, some of the excursions on this particular cruise are lacking information (never had that problem before on Celebrity or any other line). Thanks for the feedback! I will try that.
Kendall James-Vargas
@msb61 I would gladly assist as well with any excursion questions you may have. Which ports of call will you be visiting? Celebrity Constellation is a wonderful ship, and I consider it to be the ideal size with a guest capacity of 2,170 at double occupancy. Don't miss out on the new pickleball court that was recently added onboard!
PaulB
Is the reason for lack of excursions is because they are aware that they might not do these and covering their tracks? @Kendall James-Vargas being from the UK, I've never heard of pickleball. I've played majority of sports however the thought of playing a new sport intrigues me.
Kendall James-Vargas
Pickleball is a great time. All of my friends and family that play it really enjoy it because it's fun and great exercise. The fact that you play on half of the tennis court really helps with the amount of running you have to do, and it's an easy pick-up game that only really needs a solid group of 4 to make it exciting! I would say a cruise ship could be a great place for a first-time experience. If you ever cruise on a ship that has a pickleball court onboard, try to join in a pick-up game and see what you think! Another great option is ordering a fruity beverage and lounging while watching everyone else work up a sweat. It all depends on what mood you are in! PaulB
It looks a mixture of all court sports. I've played badminton, tennis and table tennis in my time, and watching it on YouTube I'd definitely be happy to give it a go.
Seaawgs
Pickleball is a bridge between tennis and shuffleboard. Excursions are drastically different depending on the port.
Kendall James-Vargas
@Seaawgs That's a pretty good description of the sport! I agree that all ports have differing excursion options and some options are certainly more desirable than others. For me, the tour buses usually aren't engaging enough if I don't get the opportunity to stop off and explore the visited areas on foot. The parent company of Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean Group, and the cruise line have both had some recent shifts to their upper management. Usually, when this occurs we may see positive changes. I'm interested to see how Celebrity Cruises continues to advance as a leader in the cruise industry.
