  1. I would definitely like to sail out of Miami, but unfortunately our son doesn't fly.  I'm hoping we can help him with his fear of flying.  I would love to give World America next April. 🤞 But traveling with a Special needs adult isn't always easy.

@rindybar Thanks for the insight. I will need to learn more about each beach's new price before I go. I would be pretty upset to realize that the costs have unexpectedly skyrocketed. I have a large family. Going to a beach that charges per person would make the experience over $100 for my family. I don't really even need all of those chairs, but an umbrella is a must. My family spends most of the time in the water or on the shore anyhow. Those are some steep prices, but I have read Bermuda is continuing to gain popularity even though it's not getting any cheaper to visit.

  3. From what I understood, I think most of the beaches are changing a fee. Which I feel is ridiculous, we all suffered losses with the shutdown but now it is time to move on.

  4. I agree 100%, this was our 12th time to Bermuda. I learned about the charge before we left the ship so we decided to stay on board.  With that said I can't help but wonder how is the money being spent? Or is the Bermuda Government doing this to keep the beaches from becoming over crowded?

  5. We just returned from Bermuda, it has always been one of our favorite places to cruise to. It's been 2 years since we last visited. When did the beaches start to charge you a fee? Elbow beach was $25.00 a person plus if you wanted a chair or an umbrella they were each an additional $25.00. I understand that maybe a small fee would be in order but come on, $25.00 pp is a bit much.

  6. I definitely prefer MSC YC. Like I mentioned the disembarkment was a huge disappointment.

I would have thought the bar service could have been better, but that wasn't a big deal. No one ever died because they had to wait for a drink.😁 As far as the price difference NCL Haven was about $3,000.00 more for the same trip not including the mini bar, which basically had sodas, bottle waters (flat &sparkling) & juices which was restocked daily. MCS will also provide you with a bottle of your choice ( wine , champagne, vodka, rum or whisky. )

The ship was Immaculate I didn't need to break out my cleaning supplies..Which if you know me that's huge.

The food in the YC was excellent a little different than what you would expect on NCL or Royal, but you can always ask for something that's not on the menu.  The menu changes every day/night in the YC where in the Haven it stayed the same for the week.  We will definitely do the YC again.

    I hope this helped you.

  7. Yes, we did chat a while ago! When you travel in a NCL Haven, the Butler will assist you completely out of the terminal.  That might be because I informed them of my son's special needs  & we didn't do that this time on the YC. My husband didn't think it was necessary....he did say later on I should have made the request 🤦🏻‍♀️😵‍💫 men!

The service was absolutely wonderful on the Meraviglia with the exception of the YC pool bar. But hay what the heck we had a week. We will absolutely do the YC again. Our friends also agreed.

  8. 👋 We just returned from our 1st MSC YC cruise.  I can't say enough about the wonderful service we received. I was a little worried about the size of our room, seeing that there was only 1 bedroom & bathroom upstairs and a double size pull-out down stairs with an additional bathroom. We will definitely do another YC again.  The only negative thing I have to say is the disembarkment of the way YC guests are left to fend for themselves.  NCL Haven's guests are literally walked all the way off the ship.

@rindybar I wouldn't worry about the extra fees you could potentially incur. You should be just fine with all of the perks YC will provide you. Everything and anything you may need will be dealt with appropriately. As a YC guest, you are VIP! I believe you will feel the royal treatment and not have to deal with any unexpected fees along the way. Also, I hope you are able to spend some time unwinding in the spa onboard. MSC Meraviglia has a great spa!

  10. Thank you, I think given the fact the ship departs at 3:00 PM we might be better off driving our car to the pier. Planning on arriving about 11:00 , in hopes most of the previous passengers have left. Going to YC entrance and start our vacation!!

  11. Hummm, that could be the reason to prevent the waste of food.  However some people do order 2 and 3 meals and finish all of them. My family eat large portions,  it's not that we are gluttons we work and play hard. This will be interesting to see how it plays out.  I'm wondering if they will apply the extra free to the YC dining room?

  12. 👋 I am sorry that I didn't see this message! I would love a list or link of area hotels. We live in CT usually we take a car service when we leave out of NY. This year we might consider staying at a Hotel in the city  or parking in the lot of the terminal.  The prices for the cars have gotten out of control. Thanks

  13. Thank you PaulB for asking this question and Thank you 3Sisters for your answers! I just read that the Seaside was planning to add an additional $5.00 charge for a second dinner. The article did say it was only on that ship, and it might just be a "test". Personally I hope not because I don't like that nickel and dime way of thinking.

  14. Hi;

Thanks for the response, I thought that we would get shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion in our bathrooms.  I have joined FB for MSC from NY. That's where I heard that, and other nasty things about the ship which is making me nervous. I guess some people are never satisfied. But when I hear the food is awful and the ship smells like sewerage I start to wonder was it one random sailing or an on going situation. Hope either way I'm not going until April so it will be all straightened out. 🤞

I will take your word on that as any type of shopping is a pet hate of mine. Couldn't think of anything worse than walking around shops just looking at items. I can stay at the bar and relax instead .

  15. I can understand you being nervous with the little ones and the balcony.  I would think they probably sleep in a little longer without any light coming in.  As I stated to mention in my past post, we use to cruise more often, since we started staying in  the Haven's we had to cut back on the frequency of our vacations. It's just not possible with the price difference . I will say once you do a Haven Suite ( 🤞MSC YC Suite) you don't want to go back. It's so nice to be pampered beyond your wildest dreams. I do have a question -.   I have heard that on MSC they do not supply you with hair conditioner . Is that true?
