Free Dinner on Mardi Gras?

Recommended Posts

Received from Carnival :

Since you picked Assigned Dining, your seats will always be reserved at one of our dining rooms. You’ll find a great variety on the menu every time you drop by! But, did you know that you always have the option of switching it up and dining at any of the other restaurants? That includes a complimentary visit to Cucina del Capitano (after 7:45 pm) and Chibang!, additional visits are only $8.00 per person. Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse is complimentary all sailing long. That's three all-inclusive specialty dining spots, complimentary for a limited time!

IS this Something new...I knew that Cucina was free for lunch, ...but is it now open from Free dining at dinner along with Chibang too? The lunch menu was a short one....

THoughts??

@Mr.Bill I have not heard of this before! It's very intriguing that all of these CCL specialty restaurants are complimentary for your entire sailing. Do you think this is because you booked a certain stateroom type or are receiving some loyalty perk? I would be very intrigued to see how this all panned out if the options were available to the entire ship. Maybe not everyone will be notified about this offering. When will this cruise disembark?

@Mr.Bill This is very intriguing! I would call CCL and see if you need to prebook this offering prior to your sailing and if the rest of your group would be able to accompany you at the complimentary rate. I would love to hear how that conversation would go. Guys Pig and Anchor Smokehouse is a great venue and so are the others. I wouldn't want you to miss out on this opportunity!

@Mr.Bill This is indeed very interesting.  My first thought was that this has to do with how the Mardi Gras and Celebration handle their Your Time Dining (YTD) seating.  On both of these ships (or at least when we were on them), the YTD seating starts in the MDR designated for YTD.  But, as guests arrive beyond that room's capacity, they move them to Cucina and Chibang.  That's why you can't reserve those 2 restaurants until later that evening (after 9pm I think?).

This situation though seems different.  I think @Cruising Caribbean is probably on to something that it may be linked to your loyalty status or your cabin type and/or some special promotion going on at this point.  Definitely reach out to Carnival to get more info and inquire whether reservations or other confirmation is needed and the logistics.

@Mr.Bill im not sure what.you loyalty level is with CCL but if you have a CCL personal assistant I would reach out to that person. If you don't then I would co tact customer service. I've travel exclusively CCL, spend a lot in casino and receive some pretty increadibly offers, however I've not received any such as you state. I would certainly follow up on it prior to your sail date. Safe jouneys and happy meals to you
