MSC Cruises ship, MSC World America, is now open for bookings! This new mega-ship is specifically designed for the North American market, unlike many of its other fleet members. MSC World America will homeport out of Miami, cruising several Caribbean itineraries. As an avid MSC cruiser, I can't wait to see this ship in action. There will be food trucks onboard this ship and even ziplining! This is something I haven't experienced before while cruising with MSC Cruises. I'm also really excited about the comedy club onboard. Do you guys think the 5,240-passenger MSC World America is going to make a statement for the cruise line?

MSC World America is going to outdo itself in the North American market. I looked up some prices, and they have gone up! As much as I want to book onboard MSC Cruises' new ship, I think I'm going to have to save up before I do so. I think this new ship may be priced a bit higher than some of the others. Maybe if I keep my eyes peeled for a good promotion I may be able to snag a better deal in the coming months.

I actually like the design of this ship. It looks sleek and modern. You always get the same similar look with cruises mainly, but I thought this one stood out from the rest. It's certainly looks beautiful

The bodice renderings of this ship do have a more sleek look! I agree that the modern design of MSC World America is quite attractive. The wave sort of detail on the top is so appropriate too. It seems more aerodynamic this way. I saw "The Gin Project" that will be available onboard, and I think it will attract a big crowd. The space is designed to serve craft gins made by expert gin-tenders.

These Balconies and all rails have to be made suicide proof. The railings or glass need to be made so you can't lean over or jump overboard.  People drink and couple's have fights . If someone is very upset and not stable , they could jump. Also if they lost a lot in a casino and were drunk and depressed.  These ships railings are low and not safe even if a child stands on a chair on the balcony they can fall over. Designers need to take this into account

Yes I totally agree @Kendall James-Vargas about the wave detail. I didn't notice that at first but it's obvious now you've mentioned it. We have spoken about engineering designs on previous post and the appreciation that goes in with not only the thinking behind it and the actual design. This is a perfect example.

@James Genteel I would hope that MSC Cruises is well aware of these potential risks and will design MSC World America to be safe and secure just like all of its other ships. Have you noticed that any of the cruise line's other fleet members have unsafe areas on board? I don't like taking my young children on any balcony due to their innate nature to climb and jump on/off anything they get their hands on. I have cruised onboard an MSC Cruises ship and chose a balcony stateroom. I did feel very secure with my children, but I ensured they didn't touch the balcony chairs. Monitoring your children is a must everywhere, not just onboard a ship. I honestly felt more risk with the pools and swim safety since my children are still learning to swim!

@James Genteel For anyone with the tendencies you suggest, I recommend booking an Oceanview or Inside Cabin. Much shorter fall if you jump.

I, for one, hope they don't turn a ship into a cage. Stay out of areas where you feel unsafe, the rest of us will enjoy the open views and wind in our faces.

@kefthecruiser That's another way to look at it! I too recommend an ocean view or interior stateroom for extra security. If you have the possible thought of going overboard I recommend staying away from any sort of potentially dangerous situation, on land and at sea. I agree that the views are pretty immaculate onboard a cruise ship, and the design of MSC World America is going to have plenty of opportunities for enjoying the tranquility of the sea with its latest design!

I agree with the above. I hope it doesn't spoil for majority to go above and beyond for security purposes. As sad as it is, it's been discussed on previous posts but if someone feels or thinks bad thoughts wishing to go overboard, then they will always find a way regardless

MSC Group's luxury cruise line, Explora Journeys, just revealed the godmother for its first ship, Explora I! I'm thinking this cruise line is going to do so well considering how MSC Cruises is taking off. Explora I will begin guest sailings in July 2023, and the second fleet member, Explora II, will begin cruising in the summer of the following year. I'm most excited about the sustainability-focused mission and immaculate itineraries that Explora Journeys will offer.

The suite designs for Explore I are phenomenal. I'm impressed by the entire MSC Group for creating such spectacular spaces from the whole modernization of the exterior of ships to the fine details of Explora I's ocean terrace suites. Explore Journeys will truly have high quality and top-notch features; the line will integrate 100% Italian products into these stateroom designs! This is something to get excited about.
