  1. Keep them living the life they want to live before the town is destroyed.
  2. Unfortunately the internet has destroyed the retail industry. Our bustling towns now are dwindling, my city especially is only fit for students, and shops are disappearing fast, mainly because people can buy things cheaper and easier online rather than going to the shops themselves. It is sad when we think of it, and I'm guilty of buying online. The sheer task of getting to the city is terrible where we are, to find somewhere to park is a joke, and when you do find somewhere, the prices are ridiculous. On the other hand, they cut the bus service, so would need to wait an hour for one to show up which is usually full, so would need to wait again for a free bus, that will go every single location before you get there, it's easier to jump in the car. So all on all, staying at home and purchasing online is easier I find .
  3. They do need a clear instructions on what they can and can't do with the scooters. They also need to provide spaces for them put them away, and that way there is no excuses when the passengers don't do what is expected of them. I always find that companies demand certain ways and don't always provide the tools needed.
  4. Makes me laugh though, who thought it would be a good idea calling a company Turkey Hill. Maybe we should think of alternative names for companies like Chicken Mound. Or call a piano store "tickle my ivories". Let's see how many great names we can all think of.
  5. And I can honestly see why the choose this way. These cruise ships are massive as we all know, and not only is it bad for the environment and the noise pollution also, it must be unsightly seeing all the time spoiling the views, as well as the traffic flow through the towns. I don't blame them for wanting less.
  6. It just feels that these towns don't necessarily want to be greedy like some port of calls. Their livelihood is ticking by as it is, and they must be happy just to earn a living wage while maintaining the town that they cherish. There are more important things to worry about that money, and way of life is a main one.
  7. I like the thought of these small towns wanting to keep tourism to a limit to preserve their heritages. I understand people stating to keep the towns going that they need the tourist to keep the place alive and ticking by, however I'm sure these places know how much is needed to survive and the importance of preserving their place away from cruise ships is more important to them.
  8. I've been reading about Turkey Hill, one of the biggest brands in US. I've again never heard of them, but there seems to be a popular reputation going forward. I'm always willing to try new things, I find it important to explore.
  9. Yes it's ab addictive brand I admit that. As soon as you discuss buying something with someone, almost instantly it's a "I'll get it on Prime. No paying for deliveries." That seems to be the main factor with customers, is the free deliveries. It's a shame other companies don't follow suit.
  10. @3Sisters I'm not a huge fan of Amazon to be honest. I can understand why people use it, very simple, convenient and popular. But my experience, it takes too long, the products aren't all that great and I'm tired of heating the name lol. I'd much rather go to store and buy but then again, they cost more because they want to cover the overheads costs.

    Alcohol

Yeah choose a club 18-30 or an escapades vacation type in Europe, and have some fun if that's what your wish is.
  12. I guess it doesn't have a right or wrong answers. It all depends on your view point and maybe what you require at that time. It falls to the same topic as cruise lines. Whether you choose a larger ship or smaller, it depends on your preferences.
  13. That's the issues I believe these cruise lines are facing these days. They understand that mobility scooters are needed, however as you've stated people have been ignorant and very rude in where they put themselves scooters, that something needs to be done. I despise rude people at the best of times, and the way they speak to you is disgraceful. I know carnival are putting plans in place to stop certain size scooters from going onboard. Maybe that will catch on with every cruise line. If not, give a point system, if a scooter is blocking somewhere, then give them a warning. If they do it again, or speak rudely to staff who ask them to move them aside, then simply throw the thing overboard into the sea. If they continue, throw them over too.

    Alcohol

Good point. And no I don't know how anyone can go onshore and get intoxicated to be fair. It's a day off to enjoy your surroundings. Enjoy yourself by any stretch of imagination, but I don't see why someone could go and get steamed.
  15. There are pros and cons to everything. Big companies are dependable. You've heard of them so you have sense of trust about them rather than a local person. The pricing varies, however a local independent company will take more care and attention than the bigger company, but that could prove to be expensive. I used to prefer local businesses, and would always say to use them to keep the money for them to feed their families rather than the mammoth corporation that doesn't care about you, but over time, especially in the UK, I found when it comes to it, local independent one person companies are soooo unreliable, so untrustworthy, and so ignorant, that now I always use the big well known companies now. If there is a problem, they get back to you, there is someone to speak to, a location to go to, and more importantly, they will show up when the day they will, do the job you've paid them for, and if that costs you slightly more, at least the job you want has been done.
  16. That's right and thank you very much for the tip. It's nice to have separate interests as well as interests as a couple.
  17. @3Sisters my wife prefers wine, or a gin if we are having a fee drinks and relaxing, and possibly half a lager with food. It varies, and I'd be happily to have a few largers and be done with. I don't think we would have 10 drinks between us for two days, so the drink package would be a total waste of money on our part.
  18. @3Sisters absolutely correct. It's because times have changed and that has allowed us as society to be more creative, which everyone wants. As you say, why be happy with sub standard mass produced ice cream, when a local companies try out different things and keeps it fresh. I love ice creams, but I love trying different things also, so it's a win win situation.
  19. It is a difficult situation to maintain. You would have thought that we as decent human beings could sort it out amongst ourselves, but that's not always the case. Timed chairs do sound like a good idea, however the timing of the day is where most people would want to bask in the sun not in let's say four hours time because of the list in front of them. So it's anyone's guess I'm afraid.
  20. You're right it is an impossible task, and there are so many rude people around. Chivalry is a rare thing in today's world, with no common ground in between. This topic in particular, I've seen both sides of the worst situation. As previously stated, people adopt as many chairs as they possibly can and disappear for majority of the day. And also I've been present where people have just picked up others belongings and thrown them aside with complete disrespect. I've seen one man throw all their stuff in the pool. It's shocking how horrible we can be to each other at times.
  21. Now Haagen Daz I have heard of, and I think I may have tried it at some point. However, we tend to use the local companies, I believe the flavours are so much flavoursome than the big names. I find myself disappointed when I try the bigger names and to me tastes so bland in comparison.
  22. That's an interesting take by showing her the highlights from her side too ha ha. I'd happily spend money on extra activities for her if it meant that I could get on with the golf side. On the serious side, I'm sure she would be happy to come along for the golf too if the weather was good, and she was involved.
  23. Another ice cream I've yet to hear of is Humphrey Slocombe. It's strange how we don't get the big ice cream chains over to the UK. The only brand I've heard of is Ben and Jerry's, and that's not really that well heard of much either I don't think. I did try some for the first time not so long ago I must admit.
  24. @Kendall James-Vargas yes it's true, you really don't need a chair for every single member of your family. When we go on vacation, we tend to only have 2 chairs because we will be sharing it between us, as we would be busy in the pool anyhow.
  25. It really is somewhere you must try. It's such a beautiful spot. I guess it's a long travel from the US, so many Americans wouldn't visit that side of the world much. But it's a much closer flight from the UK, so those countries are always available to us.
