Princess AND Carnival operating ships that need maintenance

After experiencing a disappointing Carnival Vista cruise that cancelled all three of my shore excursions (and the port visit to Grand Cayman entirely) due to slow speed issues, it seems our next planned trip aboard Princess to Alaska is having the same problem. These boats have been sidelined for two years! There is no excuse for having engine maintenance issues!

That is really saddening.  It kind of reminds me of a car or an appliance when it isn't used for a long time, then you suddenly decided to drive it, you'd get all this machine lubrication issues for being stuck at the garage.  Or a new shoes that you need to "break-in" first to make it comfortable.  It will probably be better after a few cruises.
