Ben
Is Grand Cayman open to cruise ships?
Emrys
Not yet, but the cruise lines recently had talks with the authorities of the Cayman Islands on restarting ship visits. Hopefully, we'll have a restart date soon. Kings
After two years isolated due to covid, my wife and I booked travel and accomodations to Grand Cayman for mid March 2022. After all expenses were pre paid we found out American Airlines changed all our flights, requiring a night stay at front and back of travel. Then we found out Gr Cayman requires an application for pre approval certificate just to land on the island, plus negative covid test prior to leaving USA. Once on island, a covid test is required on day 2, 5, and 7. Were coming to relax, not spend time at testing sites. 3 other couples that planned to travel with us have canceled and opt to stay in US. We understand the health concerns and are too close to travel dates to switch now. Had we known the difficulties to visit GC, we would have gone elsewhere. Emrys
That sure does sound like a hassle. I would rather not travel there and just wait until requirements are lowered. Going on a cruise sounds much easier!
