Switch from ecstasy to spirit

We are booked for the ecstacy out of Jacksonville but it is now announced that spirit will take over those sailings. We had Oceanview on empress but spirit had more balconies and less oceanview..  how is it handled? Would we get free upgraded to balcony or demoted to lower deck to remain Oceanview?

Hi @ToddJax, thanks for posting on the new boards and for making your first post! I think even if the Oceanview stateroom will be on a slightly lower deck, it would still offer the same views. You should be fine to be honest and I think the possibility of having a better cabin is higher or equal. Let us know if you get any more booking details from Carnival, would be interesting to know what they give you.

We have been switched from the Freedom to the Spirit on April 16, 2022. Hopefully not a problem. On the Freedom we selected an ocean view because of the relative isolation and cabins above us. We are celebrating our 55th Wedding Anniversary and are taking our son who has MS. He needs quiet at night. Unfortunately, it appears that above us will be active decks. Since the Spirit has less ocean views in upper and quieter decks, we hope the noise does not become a problem. We would cancel if given the option but are fully paid. All we can do is hope for the best.
