Cruising Caribbean
What are some of your best remedies for sea sickness? I'm nervous I may get a bit seasick on my upcoming itinerary. I will be at sea for seven days in concession! That's a long time to be in the middle of the ocean without seeing land.
Kendall James-Vargas
John Heald has something to say about that! The only think that really has worked for me is Dramamine. Have you tried that before?
RoadTravelled
We have found that ginger root tablets work great for us. We take 2 as we board the ship and then one each morning with breakfast. They are non-drowsy and organic so no side effects at all. Took these on our 5-day crossing from UK to Miami and had no issues. Of all of our trips, I've only gotten really sea-sick once when we were in really rough seas during a storm out of Seattle on our way to Alaska. It was so rough the dining room had to close because they couldn't keep the plates and flatware from falling off the tables! HEHE. Your mileage may vary, but that works for us. Have a great trip. Seaawgs
Pills will trade one lousy experience for another. Ginger chewable candy or their like is excellent advice,. Avoid strong food smell or diesel exhaust. Embrace it! You'll have the ship to yourself.
3Sisters
I second what @RoadTravelled recommended! Ginger root is great for anti nausea. I would vote these ginger tablets over Dramamine. I prefer natural when possible. It's important to stay ahead of the symptoms too. @Seaawgs That's a great tip too! Just try to get past it and enjoy regardless!
