Stew Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Leaving out of Galveston on 11/4 and they play the next day on 11/5. 1 Quote
SpaceCowboy9 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 I don't know for sure, but my guess would be "probably not" -- Carnival doesn't normally play sports on the big screen at the pool and I don't believe the Carnival Dream has a sports bar. Sometimes, in the casino bars, sports will be on -- that could be an option. You could always get an internet plan and stream the game? If you are on facebook, you could reach out to John Heald, he's the brand ambassador for Carnival. He's good about answering questions. https://www.facebook.com/JohnHeald 1 1 Quote
3Sisters Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 @Stew This is very exciting! I do believe that the Cowboys game should be played on some of the onboard CCL screens such as at the sports bar. I highly doubt these football games will be displayed in the stateroom televisions but if you spend the time in the sports bar you should be able to watch it all live! Hopefully, another sports fan chimes in here because I don't usually pay much attention to sports on tv, or television in general for that matter. 1 Quote

I got worried when I saw the Dream doesn't have a sports bar. The casino bar is probably my only option. The game will be on FOX so hopefully they have something other than ESPN. Quote

KeithG Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 @Stew Concur with the others, the only football games I can recall seeing on the poolside screen or stateroom TV's were Playoffs and the Superbowl. 1 Quote
Cruising Caribbean Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 @Stew I realized that Carnival Deam doesn't have a sports bar, so I conquer that your best bet will likely be the casino televisions. I guess if you have to miss it, you have to miss it. I hope it's displayed somewhere onboard though for your sake. Will this be a sea day onboard your Carnival Dream itinerary? If you are potentially getting off the ship you may have more viewing options! Quote

Cruising Caribbean Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 @Stew Well if you have any sort of internet package you can always follow up after the game is over to check the end score! I know it's not the same but don't forget you will be cruising, and that is the ultimate vacation experience. Will this be your first time cruising onboard Carnival Dream? I wouldn't skip out on the comedy club onboard if you enjoy a good laugh. Quote
Tootie Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 Because Dream sails out of Galveston, yes they do. My wife has become an avid fan of "Da Boys" as evidenced by her smelling like an ashtray after watching the game at the deck 5 bar next to the casino. While I am a cigar smoker, I find cigarette smoke to be insufferable despite having smoked for about 30 years some 30 years ago. 1 Quote

Since the ship sales out of Galveston it would only make sense to me that they broadcast the Cowboys’ games. But what makes sense to me doesn’t always make sense to others, especially corporate. I’ve heard many ex-smokers say they can no longer stand the smell of cigarette smoke. I’ve never smoked so it doesn’t really bother me. 1 Quote
Cruising Caribbean Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 (edited) @Tootie First and foremost, I'm glad you were able to catch the Cowboys game onboard! Sometimes the sports games we are most excited about are, unfortunately, not streamed on the screens for public viewing onboard the ships. It's a shame that the casinos are still filled with such a fragrance, but it's almost the assumed scent of a casino. There are non-smoking casinos but even those still have old carpets and drywall with a cigarette smell. I haven't smoked before, and I don't really spend time in the casino, so this doesn't bother me. Eventually, all cruise lines transition over to non-smoking, but in the meantime, maybe masking or a good shower after could help with withstanding watching the game in the onnnboard casinos. I guess it's the price you pay to get your favorite sports games live at sea. Edited August 18, 2023 by Cruising Caribbean Quote
