Dee Dee
Poor Curaçao being invaded by over 11,000 passengers in one day. This should never happen. I feel sorry for the locals. Ships have also invaded Santorini and other ports in Europe.
Kendall James-Vargas
@Dee Dee I see your perspective but feel pretty happy for the area to have experienced this huge day of tourism! The income tourists bring to Curaçao will be great for the local economy, and the exposure of the area will be great for supporting local small businesses. Two of Carnival Cruise Line's larger ships brought over 11,000 cruise guests to Curaçao on one single day this week. Carnival Mardi Gras alone has a guest capacity of 6,500 guests and it docked with 6,407 guests on this monumental day for the area. Do you believe that the locals don't enjoy this amount of tourism at one time? Edited June 16, 2023 by Kendall James-Vargas

Are you saying that cruising should not happen because it overwhelms areas or are you wanting limits?
3Sisters
@Woody14 I too would like a bit more context from @Dee Dee. I don't see the value in "invading" other European areas, so a greater explanation may help here. Maybe Curaçao is not equipt for this large amount of tourism in one day. If the port is able to handle it, I think that the locals are likely equipt to do it too.
