Carnival should consider Offering All Inclusive

Recommended Posts

So as a Carnival Cruiser I'm at the point of definitely moving on. Carnival likes to look like they have lower prices when in fact they don't!!! You may pay $206 for a cruise to the Bahamas but then of course there's taxes then the drink package then wifi then pictures then specialty dining. And let's not forget how offensive it is that my mom is a casino player gets $100 cruises and not platinum where as me and my husband has been on 16 cruises flying from Chicago and still pay full price all except maybe $20 dollars off the original price it's truly annoying thar we've been on far more cruises than my mom sure she plays in the casino but we spend money just like any other cruiser and honestly platinum means nothing all you get is priority boarding a a couple of laundry loads and 1hr of so call loyalty social for platinum and diamond cruisers the 2nd to last day of the cruise where you get free drinks during that time but even that's nothing to look forward to anymore cuz they just bring out a bunch of juice Bahama mammas and force you to get those we be like no we want what we want dang can't even enjoy that perk for one hr carnival is so annoying now by the time we spend on that drink package because they force everyone in the room to get it even if you are pregnant after that that like spending like the casino players if you ask me I'm just sick of the shenanigans my platinum status ain't nothing to carnival if it ain't being spent in the casino that's really messed up every other cruise line offers drinks wifi and specialty dining we really use to be team carnival but it's exhausting the fun ship is only for the casino players all others not so much in my opinion we just get nickeld and dimed I can get a pendant at home and a mouse pad from Amazon and bottled water from the store Casino players truly got it made only thing they haven't got yet that's free is wifi but I'm sure that's coming for them they don't have to just drink in the casino anymore they get free drinks all over the ship anyway that's my rant

@Taressa Harris I definitely see your point of view here. Many loyal Carnival Cruise Line guests are experiencing the same frustrations you are as a platinum member. I think the casino perk is definitely low and could be restructured to better benefit top-level guests. Thankfully Carnival Cruise Line is now asking for guest feedback and is hinting at a VIFP loyalty program overhaul. This would hopefully work in your favor! The prices may not waiver but if the VIFP program becomes restructured to better honor its loyal guests, I think that guests would be more faithful to the cruise line and happier with the honorary perks they receive.

That’s the beauty of capitalism- you have the choice of taking your business elsewhere!

@FJB That's true. Not everyone enjoys the same cruise experience and sometimes we all get a bad taste in our mouths. Although the VIFP perks may not be the best right now, the cruise line is working on enhancing them so that could be promising! In addition to this, Carnival Cruise Line is still dominating the market in several aspects. Although the overall prices are on the rise, CCL just released its sustainability report and it's pretty exciting to see all of the measures the cruise line is taking to advance its sustainability efforts. The cruise line is continuing to reduce food waste, plastic usage, and emissions, striving to be carbon-neutral by 2050.

It looks like Carnival is also introducing a fee for Chibang on Mardi Gras. Unfortunately, it's how the entire world is going now, and cruise lines are not exempt from it. We're going to keep hearing of many changes throughout the year, including Carnival's updated loyalty program, I'm sure!

@kefthecruiser I would much rather pay more for good quality. I'm not fond of the idea of paying more and receiving a lesser quality cruise experience. I'm so used to a higher quality of customer service standards and I'm not willing to compromise that standard to minimally save. I have noticed some cruise lines are choosing to cheapen the cruise experience. For those cruise lines that are remaining true to their standards, I'm more prone to cruise with them than others that are lowering their standards. I loved the pun! Yes, they truly are in the same boat and trying to keep their companies afloat.

Yep, fees, fees, and more fees; and lest we forget - lower quality to cut cost. It won't end until they turn a profit and can pay off their debt.

It will not end once they turn profitable- fees, lower quality, and higher prices are here to stay.  It’s like saying ice cream will be sold in half gallon containers once the price of dairy stabilizes - ain’t gonna happen.

@FJB I happen to agree with you here. I think the industry is creating a new normalized standard and eventually, it will be the expected norm. I think if you want a more luxurious experience or something that resembles that of higher standards, you will need to explore luxury cruise lines. Those lines cost a pretty penny but I don't think cruise lines like Azamara and Silversea Cruises will be compromising their quality in any way.

@Kendall James-Vargas @FJB  Unfortunately I have to agree with both of you here. Unless there is a massive drop in demand there won't be any price cuts. Looking at it from a business standpoint, why would they cut prices if the cabins are being filled at these higher prices? Honestly, just peeking at some of the available cruises in the next few months they are full, I've never seen so many SOLD OUT labels, These are full at what would have been outrageous prices before so, no, I can't see why they would lower prices.

@KeithG That's so true. I don't think the demand is going away at all. Even during difficult health-related circumstances, the industry had demand. I for sure was upset when my pre-booked cruises kept getting canceled due to the shutdown. I was willing to cruise, even with the extra protocols that made entering the ship quite trying. Maybe I'm just a cruise fanatic. I truly believe that all of these cruises are selling out because the world gained a new sort of appreciation for life and their ability to live it "normally." Those who used to be all work no play may have changed their stances due to vacation becoming a novelty item that was taken away for some time. If anything, the demand for the cruise industry is going to continue to increase.
