First time on a cruise.  We are going on a snorkeling excursion and wondering - do you bring ID etc with you and where do you keep it?  Is it left on boat and is there a ship representative present? Thanks for any help.

No you do not need to take anything extra. Depending who you booked the excursion with you could be going on the party boat on the way back to the ship. Enjoy

@BevRiley There are wonderful lanyards with waterproof pouches that most people use! You can wear them around your neck. Another option is a zipper within your shorts. This is another great place to keep your ID and room key. Since the cards can get wet, I say keep them near you/on you if possible.

@Danny You don't need to bring anything with you usually, but I agree with @FJB. It's better safe than sorry. I recommend brining your room key, ID, and credit card just in case.
