3Sisters
Although the market isn't at its peak, Carnival Corporation's stock is on the decline. It seems like the brand is struggling to regain sailing in Asia and Australia. One of its brands, Costa Cruises is particularly struggling to return to its post-pandemic operations. It was recently said that the line is selling two of its ships. It seems like there may be a merge in the works. Carnival Venezia will be joining the Carnival fleet in June 2023. Thoughts? https://www.cruisehive.com/is-carnivals-global-brand-presence-now-causing-issues/91265
Kendall James-Vargas
@3Sisters This is certainly interesting! I hope the cruise line, Costa Cruises, remains. It is a wonderful cruise line.
Kendall James-Vargas
@3Sisters Check this out: https://www.cruisehive.com/costa-cruises-cancels-all-asia-homeport-cruises/85623 It seems like Costa Cruises canceled Asia from its upcoming deployments because of the region's strict protocols. 3Sisters
@Kendall James-Vargas That's a good observation! Hopefully it's just the region's protocols that are inhibiting travel to those areas. It looks like the cruise line has added some new ships too, and that is promising. It's new flagship, Costa Toscana, just began sailing this year! https://www.cruisehive.com/costa-flagship-arrives-in-dubai-for-a-season-of-middle-east-cruises/90667
Kendall James-Vargas
@3Sisters Costa Toscana is a beautiful ship! It's winter itineraries will cruise to the United Arab Emirates and Oman. I wish I could be sailing one of those winter cruises next month, particularly the New Year sailing. The ship will be stopping in Duabi for New Year's Eve! FJB
CCL down 60% for the year. NCLH down 40% for the year. RCL down 35% for the year. What do I tell the broker on Tuesday morning?
Kendall James-Vargas
@FJB That is not good news! I really hope the market doesn't continue on this track. Let's just keep hoping they will make a quick rebound in no time. I think you need to tell your broker she/he needs to start booking more cruises!
kefthecruiser
"What do I tell the broker on Tuesday morning?" SELL, SELL, SELL !!! Lock in those losses.& buy back once they recover. Remember the mantra? Buy high, sell low. Hmmm......... maybe it's Buy low, sell high. Investing is just so confusing
Kendall James-Vargas
@kefthecruiser I agree about it being so confusing. I see the value in selling now to stop the losses, assuming they will continue to go down. Rebuying at the lowest price could be a good strategy, but who really knows when the lowest point is? That's the gamble I guess.
