3Sisters
Costa Cruises is planning to sell two of its ships. I remember sailing with Costa Cruises almost 20 years ago; I really enjoyed it! Does anyone have a hunch about which ships may be up for sale?
DeanneB
Do you think they are removing the smaller ships and they are now focusing on the larger ships?
3Sisters
@DeanneB It seems like Carnival Corporation is likely going to sell some of its less popular, likely older ships. I personally really enjoyed cruising Costs Cruises, maybe the line intends to modernize the fleet a bit. Hopefully they aren't getting rid of the ships based on their size! Both large and small ships have their perks.
Woody14
older ships, less fuel efficient and less options on board for additional revenue like specialty restaurants are going to be the first to go.
3Sisters
@Woody14 I agree. Fuel efficiency is something I didn't consider. It's probably more worthwhile for the cruise line to sell these older ships and roll the return into the newer, more cost efficient ships. The newer ships will likely hold more guests too, generating more income per sailing perhaps.
