Do they scope out the area for shark activity prior to snorkeling excursions?

Where are you planning to snorkel?  I went on snorkeling before and while I enjoyed the corals, the sea turtles, and the hundreds of fishes, I can't block the thought of sharks coming to attack me.  But yes, they do scope the area prior o snorkeling.  They also only allow recreational snorkeling in areas where it is deemed safe.
