Well seems you figured it out 1st lol Before answering how do you add the @person to the message I can't seem to find it. Probably something simple I've over looked. You will see that many penny machines have different denominations that you can select i.e. 1, 2,5,10 cents. On the spin button panel you have a choice how much you want to pay per spin ... example .50 1.00 1.50 2.00 5.00. So you decide to select 1 cent denomination and bet 1.00 per.spin...which is 1 up from the minimum of 50 cents. Here is a little trick in stead of 1 cent denomination select 2 cent on the spin button select the lowest /minimum bet which is 50 cents. So you ask what has done for you... #1 your payout % has increased as you increased you denomination from 1 cent to 2 cent. #2 when you hit a pay line it pays much more #3 you're still spending your $1.00 bet per spin. Tip #2 Myth buster... you will hear people say if someone hits a nice jackpot that its going to dry up and take your money to make it back up... people say and think this regularly. This is not true ...actually slots very frequently hit several jackpots back to back as the machine is trying to equalize its self to the payback % its programed to be at and has taken tons of money and needs to adjust its self. I personally on many occasions been seated near a jackpot winner seen them take the winnings and walk away and people around them shy away from that machine. I do apologize if I kinda crossed the line a bit and voicing opinions here. I know doing g so probably isn't politically correct but I'm getting to the point in life that yes I can have self control but yet at the same time it's difficult to hold back so what you get is a toned down version of what I'm really thinking/feeling inside. Here is another interesting thing that just recently happened to me, which left shaking my head. On my last cruise a month ago, after that last nights dinner concluded 3 of my table mates wanted to keep in touch with me. The other 4 people where MIA most of the cruise. One of the 3 that exchanged info was a single female and we kinda made friends. After returning home she and I texted a few times, then came a odd request she wanted to call and ask me something. I said sure no problem. Now keep in mind she and i literally saw each other 5x at MDR for dinner, we bumped into each other couple of time and spent maybe a total of 15 minutes talking and on last night we saw the final show toggoodnight. Gave her a nice hug (yes I'm a hugger lol) and said our goodnights. That's it nothing more or less. And she lives in Boston and I live in California 3000 miles apart. So she called and it was a bit labored but I tried to keep the conversation light and moving. Then bam!!! She says "I've been trying to search for you on the internet and can't find anything about you ..are you a real person?" I paused and sarcastic me said nope you met a ghost...then laughed and explained that I don't do any social media and purposefully don't put anything out on the net regarding myself. Well that wasn't good enough she wanted to know my middle initial and I knew at that point she was going to try and run a paid search ..I declined her request. She then states well I'm sorry but I don't think I can continue talking with you. I thanked her for the call told her I wished her the best of luck and safe travels and ended the call. The point of this story is I now personally experienced how people are way to dependant on internet information to the point t of not even willing to be "just friends" 3000 miles apart. Really sad, as I'm a great person not a criminal well employed have my life together well traveled and can hold a conversation beyond just the weather.

Kendall to be frank my head is kinda spinning as things keep progressing at the pace they have been. I litwrally just opened up my email and received another free room on a premeir cruise which gives me $500 free play, $200 ship credit, free gifts, treats deliver to cabin, invites to special events and so forth... oh and i can use the offer 3 times as long as book by end of june. YIKES!!! Freaking hell... i need to retire to take advantage of all the free cabin offers i currently have. Sigh!! The summer time is difficult for me to get away for any length of time, at least for the moment. Regarding destinations I'm really torn. I live in California so of course west coat Mexico is easy but I've taken those trips many times. Alaska would be easy however summer is the best time to go and this summer won't work. I've thought about going out of Galveston, new Orleans, Florida etc but have my concerns of weather in Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan as flights get impacted delayed or canceled etc. So I have a bit of a dilemma as you see. I might have to create a spreadsheet to figure this all out 🤣

I spend zero time on social media I purposefully do not have a Facebook account t, do t do Twitter or tic tok or any other social media. I do not feel that I need to broadcast my life on the internet. If someone wants to get to know me let's have an adult conversation. This foum is about as close as I get to social media and even this is anonymous. I think it's interesting g how so many people have lost social skills and face.to face interactive skills because of all the online stuff. Perfect example was I recently had an employee that had difficulty answering the phone and talking to people solely because he was consumed with social media, texting g and other online activities which in essence made him under developed in actually communicating with people verbally and face to face and that is sad as this seems to be the direction our younger population is headed. Another recent observation was I was out for dinner and looked across to a table next to me which had 2 parents a son and daughter. All 4 of them faces into their phones and not a word being spoken to each other. It was the same throughout the entire dinner. We as a society have imo lost the people connection. So forgive me when I hear about the "woken" or "woke" and think it's a bunch of horse manuer as it all sounds self centered and two faced. I.e. I want to talk nice about you but really it's all about me and if you don't agree with me or like what I believe then you're not worthy and I will talk.bad about you and exclude you. He'll it's not even male or female anymore it's binary. I had a client tell me how her daughter was talking to her and tell somethings about a lizard in class and at some point said the lizard was binary. Really!?!?!?! Yes this is a real story. I understand this is away off topic but imo society has lost its way to.the point the a David statue is offensive God forbid we see our selves as human.

Thinking back on the last time CCL revamping the loyalty program it didn't go into place right away. It had a window of time before it took place so I'm thinking this will most likely happen again but who knows

Oh and I still have free ocean view and interior rooms available if I want. I will probably ly never use the interior

I now have a personal assistant with a direct # to her and was offered a free balcony so now figuring out which trip.i want to take in Oct, Nov or December maybe Jan. Lol so many options so little time. 😅

CCL Food update... well it's been conformed by someone that I know that just returned from a 5 day cruise on CCL and a different ship than what I was on. He pretty much described the food exactly like I initially posted. He was increadibly disappointed. One example he offered up was the steaks where very thin and over cooked. His g.f. did purches the surf &turf for $23 ( which I didn't but after thought should have to try to compare) he said that the steak she received was fabulous about 4 of his in thickness and cooked to perfection, the lobster was a petite size but cooked properly. He said the taco bar was good but o ly open odd hours and guys burgers was good which I do agree with the burgers where decent but how many burgers can you eat in one trip. So now a second person repeating my observations. It's sad that the MDR meals have become so disappointing and in order to have a decent meal is to pay for it as additional expense.

Hello all well yes Virgin certainly looks intriguing and perhaps explore more on what they offer, but I'm really close to my next loyalty level with carnival and want to reach it prior to trying other cruise lines. I must admit I do spend a bit of time in the casino... lol, typically more in the evening. Yes I play a lot of slots as they give more player points and if you know which type of machines to possibly play watch patterns and a low of other things you actually can make them work in your favor. Here's a few tips... the higher the denomination of machine the higher % of payback. Simplified example a 1 cent machine might have payback of 83% (usually in low to mid 80s %) where a $1 machine might have a 93% (usually in high 80s to low 90s %) which is a 10% increase in chance to win. So if you're going to play $1 per button push which would you play... penny or $ machine?? Me the $1 machine but most ppl gravitate to the penny machine because in your mind you're thinking penny not $1 even though you'll usually spend a dollar per spin. $5, 10, 25 and 100 machines have high pay out% as you go up in values per spin. Yes I do like card games to but very low player points are given for them so I do them for fun or to build bankroll. The question is are or should eligant night still exist and are they fadi g away? I for one on my last cruise did as usual for every previous cruise packed my Tux and my $1000 black suit for formal nights. I'm use to seeing g gents dressed in tuxes and lady's dressed to the 9's with wonderful gowns or sparkly coctsil dresses. Much to my surprise on this last cruise I only saw 1 other Tux, some ill fitted suits that clearly they didn't feel comfortable in and mostly slacks and dress shirts for the guys. The woman a few had nice dresses but no true gowns or sparkle cocktail dresses, mostly sun dresses. I will say that I certainly received many compliments, few winks and couple nudges from age rang of mid 20's to 60's, which tell me women still appreciate a well dressed man 😆 I even had one walk across the dinning room and said " I couldn't help notice you when you walked in and wanted to tell you how amazing g you look" she was in her 30's. Keep in mind I'm in my mid 50's... needless to say I blushed and had a big smile on my face and all my table mates gazed with shock 🤣 I for one think the tradition of formal attire for dinner that has been directly linked to cruises stems from a bygone era that represents a since of ones status and self pride. I have always looked forward to formal nights as you can truly dress up and actually have someplace to go. Perhaps I'm just old school but I think it should remain and be more emphasized by the cruise line. What do you think???

Yep good ol' days.. I do hope the food standards improve as time goes on to what was once before. I for one dressed formal with my Tux on day 2 formal night. I think k I saw one other person in Tux. I can personally attest that a well fitted (yes I own mine) still tun heads. I had a gal walk across the dining room to me and stated "I couldn't help notice you when you walked in and I wanted to tell you how amazing you look". This was one of many compliments received that night. Which now leads me to start a new topic for discussion.

Kendall I have not heard of the "woke" movement that you spoke about but if as you say they are more open minded then what's the problem with the Davis statue ? Wouldn't that mean they would be more accepting. Just a thought. Perhaps I missed your point..lol

As for what I play in casino, I play 21 and slots and texas holdem. The trick I have learned is night one and two have the best odds for wining on slots. Not sure why but it could be that when they are at a u.s. port they have to turn the machines off and restart them once in intl waters. I'm not sure but it appears that the restart resets the computers inside and payouts are more frequent so I play a lot of slots on days 1 & 2. Example last cruise I had $500 free casino money from CCL. Once the casino opened I was playing and had used $50 of the free $ and hit $500 jackpot. Then hit a couple more $100 plus jackpots. So I had a decent bankroll for free approx $1200 and it cost me nothing but my time. I have a system I use to test if machine will hit or not but who knows if it's legit but it works for me lolol slots in general gain you the most points vs. Table games as they base points off how long you play and your wager and it computer driven which is more accurate than tables as tables are human driven and not always so generous with the points but can certainly add to the bankroll if get on the right table at the right time.

I have not returned the CCL Reps call that took place few days ago and today I missed a call and saw it came from Florida and they left a msg. Yep you guessed it the same rep that called previously and re introduced herself and said she was here to assist me in any future cruises and then added "before you book your next cruise please call me as I have some very exclusive offers for you" hmmm guess who I'm calling tomorrow 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 This is crazy...will be interesting to see what she offers as " very exclusive just for me" Noone else here has had this happen to them???

Many years ago I cruised on CCL Pride and personally saw the David Statue. I too read about the dry dock and removal. I'm sad.. I never took it offensive and thought of it strictly art and frankly it was impressive. If I had a space at my house I would buy it...well maybe 🤔 😆 it was very unique and actually thought it to be fun. People are too uptight these days. Would hate to hear what they say if the visited Rome or Greece. Broaden your mind and appreciate what it represents not what you imagine in your minds. Okay said my two cents. Glad I had the opportunity to be part of CCL history and what was.

Yes I still got the points for the number of days cruised even though free room offer. That's one of the greatest points...not only free but earn 1 point per day on ship.

Kendal not to make you cry but I have CCL offer on the new ship Luminesa for 22 day cruise departs from Seattle stops in Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, tiawan, Japan and ends at Sydney... and the price is!!!??? Drum roll.... $ ocean view cabin they would end up paying me $300. How so? Cruise cost with port charges $400. On board ship credit $200 which brings cost to $200, but then I get $500 free play at casino so the net is minus $300 in my favor. I've attached a pic of the offer 🤣

I have heard that CCL is once more looking to change the loyalty program and I too have some concerns as before the last change the CCL loyalty program was based on number of cruises to increase in loyalty status. It didn't matter if it was a 4 day 7 day 14 day etc... at that point I was only 2 cruises away to become platinum. Then they changed to # of day which then made it so I needed 4 cruises to reach platinum...sigh Currently I don't have any cruises booked however I'm strongly looking at cruises in Oct, Nov and Dec. I'm being a bit cautious to pull the trigger for 2 reasons #1 I'm wondering if the loyalty program will change prior #2 I already have free room offers for window cabin but I hoping to get free balcony room offer LOL I do agree that exploring other cruise options are in order but it's really difficult to determine from websites which might be a great choice.

I thought it was interesting that after.a week returning from my recent cruise and 3 days after submitting my players platinum card from a local casino that I received a call from Carnival. I didn't take the call and they left a msg with The rep providing her direct number and said her job was specifically to make sure I was taken care of on any up coming cruise plans and wanted to make sure I was getting the very best offers and wanted to help.plan my next cruise. Then thanked me for my last cruise. Keep in mind I've cruised carnival 8 times and still Gold card but getting close to Platimum and I earned over 8k casino points on my last cruise .. and have been receiving free ocean view cabin offers, but hoping for free balcony offer...lol. in all my trips I've never received a call like this before. Anyone else receive this type of call?

I have traveled via cruise ship to the Mexican riviera 5 or 6 times. Ports of call cabo, mazatlan, LA Paz, xtapa, Manzanillo, Puerto vallarta, Acapulco. Out of all these stops Mazatlan is my most disliked. Before I go into why it's my most disliked, I want to point out the U.S. depth of State has placed a travel advisor to level 4 which is the highest threat level. That area is one of the main areas for the drug cartel and big problems have been happening. With that put aside when you dock its at a commercial dock and is ugly ugly ugly. You have to take a tractor pulled trailer with seats to.the port entry. Once.you get.to the port bldg it's filled with tons of trinket shops, walk through to the other side and they have an outside area that plays music more trinket shops and bar. It's kinda a cool vibe. If you walk through that you are immediately hounded by local guys trying to sell.you rides or trips and they can be a bit aggressive. Rwgarding the town it's self it's not a pretty city and is pretty dirty. On the far far side east of the port you can get.to the malecom which is.on an interior bay. It's not much to write home about, but they do have a lot of hut type restaurants right on the beach which some have great food other's not so. On the south east side of the bay from the Malcom you can see tall condos being built and sky line rising up from the beach area. I've not been in that area but suspect it's a nicer part of mazatlan. Mazatlan really is a industrial port city and frankly the offerings imo are not that great and not sure why the cruise ships even stop there. On my recent trip 4/26/23 due to State Dept. Warnings and not a great port I saved money to use at nicer ports and only got off the ship to stretch my legs on land and only grabbed a couple t shirts from the port center vendors which cost $15 ea. Then got back on ship and enjoyed a less crowded boat. Went to serenity jacuzzi (only 1 other person) took a dip in the pool (only me) got a massage (ship spa $100 for hr.) and had a specialty dining ($38) on board. Was a great port day 😀
