I am inclined to think that the removal of Covid testing might be premature. I personally dread that we will have to go back to testing and masking ugh!!
Unless you're cruising in Australia, you should be fine. I also think that Australia will soon ease the protocols again.

I also don't think the protocols will make a return! But you should still take out travel insurance no matter what!

Just how comfortable are the chairs on the balcony and do they have a better type of balcony chair if you have a suite ?
Does anyone bring a cushion to put on the chairs ? How do the chairs compare to other cruise lines ?
@Blue Shirt, Virgin Voyages is best when it comes to being comfortable! They have the hammocks! They look super comfy!

Sad to say but 2 other princess ships in Australia regions are having issues with Covid-19
Majestic Princess was quarantined by Tahiti with over 100 cases of covid-19 two weeks ago
Coral Princess was also reported of having about 100 cases of Covid
Have to say having cruised on Regal Princess & Sky Princess earlier this year in the UK, they seemed to have very good covid procedures also having hand washing before you entered the buffet and we felt safe and didn't hear of any Covid cases onboard
@Blue Shirt are there any more ships impacted?

ncl decided to eliminate 2 ports of call on what was originally supposed to be 7 ports of call on a 14 day cruise. They are still promoting it as 7 ports but are including the departure port of NYC and arrival port of NOLA., giving only 5 actual stops on a 14 day cruise. Not what we booked nor what we wanted
Weather related maybe? If so, not really their fault.

With everything being so fluid, it's not really a surprise. When was that news?

Have you checked your Manage Booking area? It should be updated in there.

It's nice to see more MSC cruise ships come to the US, especially their newest ships.

After reading about the Norwegian Escape resuming from Port Canaveral over the weekend, I saw the livery design and I do think it's one of my favorites! Was just thinking which is your favorite livery across the NCL ships?

John Heald said on his live post this morning that the January 6 cruise won't be cancelled. Not as good as Hawaii, but that would be better than breaking them all up!

Wow, wonder why they did that? What ship are you sailing on? As far as I know, people are still in cabins next to each other. Will have to dig deep in all the Royal Caribbean protocols.
-
Good question on why they changed. Don't think they gave a reason why. Maybe something to do with the port agreements.
-
It's constantly changing. The main thing is that cruise lines are ignoring all these notices, which is good. Florida is looking better than most areas in that map from Brown's University! That's a good sign.

Looks like Holland America Line and even sister line Princess Cruises have extended their protocols through February 2022. I guess testing could continue too.
-
They were going to do it but I read that due to logistical reasons they ended up not implementing testing at the terminal. The best way is with the home test kits or booking at somewhere like CVS or Walgreens.
-
Now even more cancellations in Australia as I saw today that Royal Caribbean cancelled an entire season for Ovation of the Seas. When is the government there going to start allowing cruises again! This is getting so bad now.

Majestic Princess has now resumed from Los Angeles too.

Did anyone else see the update from the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings CEO on CNBC?
He talked about COVID booster shots and didn't think they would be needed. He also mentioned that once kids 5- to 11-year-olds had approval to be vaccinated, they would be allowed to cruise. Very interesting update. Norwegian Cruise Line set to launch full fleet by April, CEO says (cnbc.com)

It looks like Chris Williams is still on the cruise doing handover. The Mardi Gras does look fun though, not sure if I would give that ropes course a go!

HOORAY! Cruising is back from LA!

It will be interesting to see which places are added to level 4 next. The cruise lines are doing well and it's good they continue to sail to these ports.

Thoughts on Gratuities?
in Other Cruise Lines

Holland America has just increased its gratuities too! We should have bets on which cruise line is next!
