Hi @DMagno, thanks so much for posting! That cruise sold out in 24 hours which is just crazy! The good news is that Carnival just opened up another voyage to Greenland that actually departs even earlier on August 13. Make sure you book fast as it's likely to be booked up shortly. https://www.cruisehive.com/carnival-cruise-line-adds-second-greenland-cruise-due-to-huge-demand/57228

I saw that Australia is reopening to international travel in November for fully vaccinated Australians. However, no word on the cruise situation. I really feel for the cruise industry there, especially with all the other countries opening up and working with the industry. I hope we get to hear something very soon.

Glad you got it all sorted. All these cruise line apps always seem to have issues before a cruise. I had issues for my MSC Cruises in the summer too. @Cruise-Sailor when is your cruise by the way?

We will be sailing on Glory out of NOLA Oct.17th. Spending 2 days pre-cruise in NOLA. getting our testing done at OHare Friday before boarding plane. Checked twice with Carnival, and was told that would be accepted as 2 days prior to sailing. Hope I got the correct information!

Not too long until your cruise then! I bet the excitement is building up!
Yes, if it's two days before sailing then you'll be all good. I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Hi @Steve M, Thanks so much for posting and welcome!
I think the new wearables will be good even without Covid. We had them on our MSC cruise in the summer and found them no problem. To be honest I didn't really think of the contact tracing aspect and found them handy to pay for things and use as a keycard. Don't think they will be used for paying on Royal Caribbean. Here's what the Tracelets can do:

We won't be sailing to Bermuda. Too much of a hassle. Glad we are on the Breakaway out of New Orleans early December. Hoping it does not change protocols.
You should be fine with the protocols, cruise lines are trying not to make so many changes and make things easier.

Norwegian Cruise Line has already sent details to travel agents and guests about new requirements by the authorities in Bermuda. Is mainly for the Norwegian Breakaway sailings out of New York. Here's the letter:

The CDC has added another two countries to the list but thankfully not major cruise destinations.

Hi @Norma Baker, thanks so much for your post on our new boards.
The cruise lines will usually send guests directly any protocols that are in place a week or so before departure. However, I think it's really important to make sure you check yourself in your booking details just in case you're not surprised by any last-minute changes. Protocols are changing as cruise lines adapt to the Covid situation.
When it comes to the test kit, I would not order too early as there could be an expiration date. Also, there is a shortage in supplies so if you order too late they could be out of stock. it's very tricky at the moment. Make sure you read all the details on the purchase page of the test kit: COVID-19 Test for Travel - Abbott BinaxNOW™ Ag At-Home Kit 2 Pack | Optum Store
I hope some of that helps you out. if anyone else has anything to add then feel free to help Norma out.

Hi @Joyce Geraci, welcome to the boards and thanks so much for your reply.
Knowing Carnival, I think Halloween will be spooky and fun as usual. Even the pirate is making a return in the main atrium. costumes are allowed but think there are still some rules as in the screenshot below. When is your cruise? I bet you can't wait! You have to let us know how the cruise was.
-
I haven't used them yet. From what I'm seeing online, they seem to be making it much easier for pre-cruise testing. Don't see anyone having any issues really. Please do let us know on here how the test went for you, would love to know. Also, how long did delivery take for you?

Hi @Cruiser44,
The maximum passenger capacity for Wonder of the Seas is 6,988 but for double occupancy it is 5,734.

Apparently many people have been experiencing issues booking the cruises and there are not many remaining. A shame they can't offer more cruises like this. 😞

Looks like Grand Princess is resuming operations today and is the first cruise ship to do so from the Port of Los Angeles in California. Just wondering what everyone thinks of cruises from LA? https://www.cruisehive.com/first-princess-cruise-ship-restarts-operations-from-los-angeles-california/56928

Looks like the situation with the two Royal Caribbean cruise ships in Asia is looking tricky. Spectrum of the Seas' restart out of Hong Kong has been delayed until October 14 and the cruise line has made changes to its protocols for Quantum of the Seas from Singapore due to surging cases. Do you think it will get any better?

Sen. Murkowski has done a great job for Alaska and if it wasn't for her and a couple of others, there would still be no cruise ships sailing to Alaska. Some great cruise destinations there for sure and it's good see cruise visitors enjoying them once again!

Hey James, welcome to the new board and for your question. Carnival Freedom is currently scheduled to restart operations from Miami, Florida on October 9, 2021. So not too long of a wait to see the vessel back in action. You can check all the ships still to resume here: 13 Carnival Cruise Ships Still Waiting to Resume Operations (cruisehive.com) 😀

The CDC has recently been adding more cruise destinations on its level 4 list but it's important to know this doesn't mean that a cruise ship will stop sailing there. The cruise lines do work with local authorities on protocols and things like that, so hopefully, that does not change. So far, here is the list of the Caribbean destinations on the level 4 list:
- Antigua and Barbuda
- Aruba
- The Bahamas
- Belize
- Bermuda
- British Virgin Islands
- Curacao
- Jamaica
- Puerto Rico
- Panama
- St. Kitts and Nevis
- St. Lucia
- St. Maarten/St. Martin
- U.S. Virgin Islands

Kids camp
in Carnival Cruise Line
Posted
Hi @Rena Rittenhouse, thanks so much for posting. Not sure really, it depends what Carnival Cruise Line decides. I do think it will be sooner rather than later as they want guests to be able to bring kids and get more people cruising. We'll have to keep an eye out and wait to see what they decide to do.
