  1. Passengers are reporting from onboard Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas of a fire that broke out, along with around a 20-minute power loss. The ship was making a call in Costa Maya, Mexico, at the time. Here's a video from one of the passengers currently on the vessel: Icon of the Seas Fire.MP4
  2. It will be interesting to see how this develops. I'm sure that will be some backlash from those local businesses that enjoy the influx of cruise ship visitors.
  3. Just in case anyone was planning on making their dining reservations, Princess Cruises recently informed guests that they had delayed the new system until July 1. Here's the letter:
  4. I'm more interested in how Cruise Hive is looking on your iPad! 😂
  5. It's going to be a busy one, hold on to your hats cruisers!
  6. I actually had a feeling that Carnival would do something about one of its P&O brands. It can't be nice for those down under, but I can certainly see why Carnival decided to do this.
  7. @Loyal To Royal I did enjoy the Quantum of the Seas, especially for my six-year-old son! However, it was more of a unique experience out of Shanghai and they had the Hot Pot dining options. The pools were totally empty, had them all to ourselves. Most people were shopping or at Sorrento's. The ports were alright, prefer the Caribbean and Europe.
  8. @Stan Biffard I'm guessing it's this one? Princess Cruises Changes World Cruise Itineraries (cruisehive.com)

    MSC Seaview

MSC Cruises is a huge cruise line in Brazil and has some good options for sure. South America is the only continent I've never been to. Good to try something different rather than the usual Caribbean!
  10. Well said @Cornelis and thanks so much for posting. Always important to keep track of ship time, especially in a port which you're not so familiar with. Always good to book a tour through the cruise line too.
  11. That's correct @FJB, very sad news indeed. https://www.cruisehive.com/passenger-missing-and-overboard-from-msc-cruises-ship/126737
  12. Hey @Jim Lamb Did Royal Caribbean contact you about replacing Labadee for Allure of the Seas?
  13. Seems to be more and more spaces becoming exclusive spaces, such as The Retreat and MSC's Yacht Club. I do enjoy those views from the front of the ship!
  14. Carnival Cruise Line Brand Ambassador John Heald recently posted that the cruise line is planning a new, refreshed loyalty program. He did not reveal details about the program but did admit that it was in dire need of an update. Apparently, more details on this will be coming later this year. What would you like to see from the new program?
  15. Celebrity Xcel will be the next Edge-class cruise ship to join the fleet. We have a while yet, as the ship won't arrive until 2025, but just wondering who is looking forward to the next new vessel from the cruise line? Also, any thoughts about the Edge-class in general?
