3Sisters Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Why are RCL guests encountering zip tied chairs on their balconies? Ovation of the Seas has zip tied balcony chairs as of last month. I don't understand why the balcony chairs are zip tied into a reclined position. Its so annoying! I don't want to have to sit reclined 24/7 on my balcony chairs! Would you cut those zip ties off? Kendall James-Vargas Posted November 5 Posted November 5 This is so strange! I haven't seen this before. Has anyone else seen this on a cruise? I don't see the point of it either unless the chairs are broken. If they are broken, they can be replaced! What would be the point of securing the balcony chairs this way? Quote
Cruising Caribbean Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Cruisers are saying Harmony of the Seas has the same zip tie thing. It's so bizarre! Do you think the wind slams them forward? Maybe guests have complained about the chairs moving around in poor weather. It's just a thought, but otherwise I don't get it either. Quote
Kendall James-Vargas Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Guests on Odyssey of the Seas also noticed the zip tied balcony chairs this month too. I wonder if some news will come out about the reasoning behind all of this. I'm still perplexed by it. Quote
Jim Lamb Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Why hasn't anybody done the simple thing and asked their cabin steward? 1 Quote
Cruising Caribbean Posted November 22 Posted November 22 @Jim Lamb I like your response! That's a great question. Anyone going on an upcoming RCL cruise? If you are please check your balcony chairs for zip ties and ask a crew member why they are getting tied this way. I'm guessing there is a safety reason. Otherwise, it does't make sense. Quote
