thorpemarlene
My wife and I are so excited to find out MSC is now accepting bookings to Alaska from their newest homeport of Seattle. We just booked a maiden voyage cruise in May 2026 with the itinerary of Ketchikan, Icy Straight Point, Tracy Arm Fjord, Juneau, Victoria B.C. and then back to Seattle 7 nights. This will be our third visit to Alaska. The inaugural season will see the MSC Poescia doing the honors. I can tell you that this could impact the future pricing of the other cruise lines. We landed our balcony cabin approximately 800.00 cheaper than a comparable cabin on Carnival. Approximately 2,000 less then Celebrity. For that kind of savings its hard to overstep it. Cruising Caribbean
@thorpemarlene I'm so glad you shared this! This is amazing news! I will absolutely be booking one of these itineraries. You know what that means; the line is opening up a new US homeport! How exciting is that? I'm a fan of MSC Cruises so this is a big win for me as a Diamond VC member. I have yet to cruise on MSC Poesia. This would be a great opportunity to give the ship a try. Have you cruised on MSC Poesia before? Does the ship offer YC? MSC Cruises has amazing prices! I'm glad you scored such a great deal.
thorpemarlene
Cruising Caribbean: No we have never sailed on this small ship. It holds around 2200 people plus crew, built in the early 2000s but from the videos we have seen we believe it's a good fit for Alaska. I really did not look at YC as we booked a premier balcony but I am pretty sure they have YC. We will be on the inaugural trip on May 11 from Seattle. This was perfect for us, we sail on April 30 out of Los Angeles to San Diego, San Francisco (overnight) then up to Victoria ends in Vancouver on Celebrity on May 8th. We were going to take the train from there down to Seattle and visit family for a couple of days, so we are already there and leave on the 11th. Perfect ! Kendall James-Vargas
@thorpemarlene This is such exciting news! I will absolutely be booking an Alaska cruise with the line. Yes, in fact MSC Poesia does offer Yacht Club onboard! For those that enjoy cruising YC, this could truly be the experience for you. She's a lovely, smaller ship as you mentioned. I love the "smaller" ship feel. It's less crowded and more intimate. It's not too small though. Wow, you have quite the experience planned! This is going to be one to remember! Would you be able to share what train you will be traveling on? I would love to try a similar experience, train and all!
