3Sisters
New Caledonia is facing much civil unrest at the moment. Currently, New Caledonia has a level three travel advisory, warning guests to reconsider traveling to this area. Unfortunately Carnival Splendor won't be stopping there after all due to these local issues. Has anyone cruised there in the past? It's a pretty scenic area, and I'm sure guests booked on these itineraries will be disappointed about skipping this port. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/new-caledonia-travel-advisory.html
Kendall James-Vargas
Unfortunately it has been like this for some time. Back in May CCL Australia voiced concerns about this are considering guest safety. From rioting to looting, New Caledonia isn't the best place to cruise right now despite how lovely it is. I'm glad cruise lines are remaining proactive and prioritizing guest safety amidst this unfortunate civil unrest. The last thing you want is for guests to feel unsafe while cruising.
