  1. for labour, I suggest you contact individual cruise lines to find any jobs like waiter or cabin steward they may have. As a dog handler do you have a license ? Try security companies. What country do you live in ?
  2. Yes, I've read something like that on other forums before. I'm inclined to think like you and if you get onboard credit, then you should be free to spend it as you like but at the end of the day, they ( the cruise line ) make the rules.
  3. Don't know but imagine it will be fairly busy. What ship are you on ? Where are you going to ? Have a great cruise and let your kids have fun in the kids club whilst you enjoy whatever else you fancy 🥳 🥳 😎
  4. It's been awhile since I cruised with Carnival but i do remember there did seem to be a bit of wastage. Other cruise lines do it better with someone giving out the ice cream. As for the entrees, from what I've heard some guests were trying all the dishes without eating that much of them....that's ( in my opinion ) ridiculous. I'm all for trying another dish if it looks good and you can ask for just a half portion and Carnival are not stopping you doing that. It's not like your going to starve but some people think that because they've paid for the cruise they are entitled to take as much food as they want and leave half of it on a plate. No wonder Carnival have said this. That said, I'm sad if its true you can't get a late night pizza anymore
  5. @wmrad007 yes I can understand why you're upset and as a consumer you have the right to inform others if you are upset explaining your views ....as you have on here + also if you are unhappy with Carnival then just don't cruise with them again. One thing I'd like to add ....Don't go on your cruise with negative thoughts and feeling annoyed. You just have to accept what has happened has happened and whilst on your cruise, be determined to enjoy every minute of your cruise, relax, have fun and enjoy the sun, keep a smile on your face and hopefully you'll feel a lot better 🥳 🥳 😎
  6. Well I hadn't actually heard of the Apothic wine brand before and I understand it comes from California but what I really find interesting is that it can be kept in the fridge just like a white wine, whereas most red wines are better not in a fridge.
  7. Thank you for such good clear information and I have put the church on a short list of "must go there" places. Have taken note about pickpockets on trams & elsewhere. What I am also interested in is .... "what to do in the evening" . Of course there will be some great restaurants to dine in the city, so has anyone got any suggestions for a evening in Lisbon if I decide to stay off the ship ?
  8. Has anyone stopped off at Lisbon ? My cruise will be stopping there for an overnight stay so I'll have plenty of time to explore the city. I believe you can walk off the ship straight into the city from one of the two cruise ports, so hopefully I will be at Santa Apolónia. Is it really worth getting a hop on hop off bus or is it better to mix walking with public transport ? The places I think I need to visit are Baxia, Belem, St Georges castle for the views, narrow streets of Alfama, Rossio square & the Santa Justa Lift. Anyone got any other suggestions ?
  9. yeah, maybe I should have used the word " limited " instead of restrict 🤔 😄
  10. It seems to be a big improvement but of course you can't put LNG on the older cruise ships + ships using LNG need bigger storage tanks which might have a slight impact on the number of staterooms on the ship.
  11. Sad to say but 2 other princess ships in Australia regions are having issues with Covid-19 Majestic Princess was quarantined by Tahiti with over 100 cases of covid-19 two weeks ago Coral Princess was also reported of having about 100 cases of Covid Have to say having cruised on Regal Princess & Sky Princess earlier this year in the UK, they seemed to have very good covid procedures also having hand washing before you entered the buffet and we felt safe and didn't hear of any Covid cases onboard
  12. 9 news Australia says that 400 guests on Quantum of the Seas may be positive with Covid-19 Royal Caribbean refuses to confirm the number or state how many people are infected but reports say the Covid-19 decks are overflowing. Ovation of the Seas is also reported to have over 100 cases of Covid -19. There are many comments on twitter but as I don't look at twitter I can't confirm .
  13. I've just heard that the maiden voyage has just sold out completely
  14. I've known others, where one person doesn't drink and the rules say they both have to purchase the drinks package. The trouble is that Carnival seem to think that too many people would take advantage so won't sell a single package. Yet now I've heard they restrict your drinks to 15 a day, whatever package you are on. Is that really true ? I think this may well lead to extra smuggling of booze onboard......what do others think ?
  15. There's nothing wrong with expressing your preference and I agree that tablecloths & nicely presented napkins can for some enhance their dining experience. One of the reasons for no tablecloths might be the additional cleaning costs. I am one of those who enjoys dining in an upmarket restaurant occasionally but I can also enjoy breakfast in a workman's cafe with mugs of tea, get your own cutlery and pay at the counter. As an afterthought, could you not ask the Hotel Director if they have considered putting tablecloths on the tables and their reason for not having them.
  16. I would think that other people on the same cruise will have the same problem getting to the terminal. If you are staying at the holiday inn by Biscayne Blvd is it possible you could walk with your cases if they are on wheels unless you have mobility problems in which case it's not such a good idea. Maybe a post on the T.Advisor Miami travel forum would get a helpful answer as they have destination experts. Hope you can get this sorted in time.
  17. Yes HuliHuli is correct with the " guest ticket " information he has given but its hard not to feel a bit sympathy for losing 2 ports you hoped to visit on a cruise you had booked in June. I would be a bit upset as well if it happened to me but sometimes as they say, sh** happens and you just have to put a brave face to it. 4 days in a row at sea is not something I'd be very happy with either. I'm guessing Karen Houle paid in full so she couldn't cancel. At least you are getting some compensation despite it not being as much as you would have wanted. However I would just add that rather then spend the cruise feeling down, try to be positive and put a smile on your face and be determined to enjoy the cruise despite the disappointment of two ports missing.😃
  18. I really hope so..............lets not forget Princess Cruises were fined $40 million in 2017 for it's deliberate dumping of contaminated waste from one of it's vessels which they tried to cover up.
  19. For a long time I was hoping to cruise with Star Cruises on one of their " Superstar " ships and then they were taken over by Genting. Having been a few times to Asia it would be interesting to be on a different type of cruise and as Emrys has said the outer decks would be easier to relax on with fewer guests about. I would also love to see what type of entertainment they put on, as it will good to experience something new.
  20. So have many others Richard and yes life is good. 😃 So how many cruises have you been on and do you have a preferred cruise line ? Yes it is good to have a site that doesn't censor news but we should all be aware that some news articles are invented ( like the false info sometimes on Wikipedia ).
  21. have you phoned or sent an email to customer services ? Maybe they might know.
  22. That's good advice but sometimes it can a problem getting there at the designated time when you have to get to the cruise port using public transport.
  23. Just how comfortable are the chairs on the balcony and do they have a better type of balcony chair if you have a suite ? Does anyone bring a cushion to put on the chairs ? How do the chairs compare to other cruise lines ?
  24. its a shame that Paul M hasn't been back since he started this post unless he's been back as a guest but I would have suggested like DeanneB that he first appealed by email. He did have a 3 month warning about the ship going into dry dock, so that would mean he probably was informed in July. He made the decision to have a family holiday in Devon, but he would probably have had time to get a last minute cruise using his voucher for September or even October. However if they still said they would not extend the voucher he could have made a post + each member of his family on the NCL Facebook page and also appealed on twitter. Might possibly get some support by others, who knows. I also don't think he was " ripped off " and don't think he should use that term again as it wouldn't help his case with NCL & maybe being polite explaining it wasn't his fault the cruise he was booked on was cancelled, can achieve the right result, although I have heard NCL customer services can be unhelpful.
